Default 8/1: Saratoga (Day 10; Amsterdam; $60k C/O)

Huge weekend of action culminates with 3 stake Monday and $60k carryover at Saratoga. Predictable Sidney's Candy win in the Fourstardave gave way to 'what just happened' Ruffian win by undistinguished Ask the Moon. At Monmouth, Bob Baffert continued his mastery of the Haskell as developing Coil bested Shackleford in an exciting stretch battle. Not a lot of time to review the Sunday wagering except to say it was a down day that never really got going. Hope you did OK... Good set of races to end the first full week and opening quarter of the Spa stand. Weekend Review on ATR this morning!

Don't think that way. You were 100% right leaving Ahvee's Destiny off.

AD,

Congratulations! Great ticket highlighted by the 'all' use. It was that kind of race.

Barney,

Andy is the king of the turnback. He also scored out on the P4...

Good to see Caleb's Posse win yesterday even though he and ArchArchArch took turns beating me during the spring at Oaklawn. He is a cut below the best this year, but nevertheless a hard trying horse. Got a little back yesterday which is good. I'm headed to Vegas on Friday and will now have a little money to visit the Sportsbook. Problem is taking 5,7 and 9 year old grandchildren so might be spending more time at the pool than in the sports book. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Steve. Couldn't separate them so I took all. With the money I spent covering in the last leg I might as well have taken all in that leg too. Never know what to do when you are live like that to a good payoff. The gambler in me says stand pat but the accountant says cover and at least make a profit.
A few more hits and maybe I can take the long trip from the Northwest and come visit the barbecue.
By the way the Mile is in 2 weeks and Jon White didn't mention it on the show yesterday but he has been appointed as honorary steward for the race.
