Is it pretty likely we see a LSU/Alabama national championship game?? I think Oklahoma can beat Ok State and Oregon can beat Stanford. If Boise didn't pass Alabama this week, they never will. Bama kicks field goals as well as Wisconsin plays hail mary defense.

So now we have LSU, Bama, and Arkansas as the top three teams in the BCS. If LSU beats Arkansas, it's a wrap basically and they will rematch with Bama in the title game. If Arkansas upsets LSU, it's going to be crazy. I would assume Arkansas would move up to #1 in that scenario. What happens to LSU? Do they fall to #2 or to #3, behind Bama, who they beat? If they fall only to #2, Bama is then left out even though they destroyed Arkansas earlier this year. Also, if they fall only to #2, we'd be looking at an Arkansas/LSU rematch for the title.....unless Arkansas gets upset by Georgia in the conference title game. Then we'd get an LSU/Bama rematch.

Confused? You won't be after the next episode of.......Soap.

if arkansas beats lsu, they would need a bama loss to leapfrog to first. bama owns the west tiebreak should ark win friday, and would move to the sec championship vs georgia if they win out.

the easiest thing for lsu would be a win friday, obviously. ark needs a win and help.
bama needs a win and loss by lsu to get to ga.
i have a hard time seeing, if bama and lsu both win, bama staying at number 2 since other teams in the top ten still have a championship game to play. hard to justify a team winning their conference, playing an extra game, not moving ahead of the tide.

Gotta believe that barring a huge upset, it will be LSU/Alabama II for the title.

Won't have to worry about Bama being in the equation after this Saturday.

I'm almost begging for a rematch between Bama and LSU and Bama winning just so I can hear all of the LSU fans cry about how it's not fair that they split and how LSU won in Bama and had to play in the conference title game. I still do not understand why LSU would have to beat Bama twice to be champion but Bama only has to beat LSU once. Makes zero sense to me.

Which is why a playoff set up is a no brainer except to the NCAA

I have a feeling that if LSU beats Georgia, they are going to get a share of the title no matter what happens in the title game. The AP voters aren't contractually obligated to vote for Bama if they win the title game like the coaches are. I think they'd vote LSU due to the strength of their whole season and beating Bama in Bama.

this was the year when the gates finally were opened completely for Boise State to play for it, yet just like last year they missed a very short field goal against their only tough conference foe. Wouldn't have made the game last year, but certainly would have this year. OH well. I think LSU and Alabama are the two best teams without question, and I'm not sure why anyone would vote LSU number 1 if Bama beats them. It's not like the win by LSU was overwhelming by any stretch and if memory serves me, it was simply Alabama got a Boise State like field goal kicking performance which is why LSU won the game.

I dont really want to see the rematch, but there is no possible way I want to see OK St vs LSU. OK ST loss was a lot worst then Bamas and I think Bama would be 14 point or more favorite vs OK ST right now. Hopefully Oklahoma beats them and we dont have to worry about it.

The issue could be UGA, they are really hitting on all cylinders and their style is so different from everyone that LSU has beaten up on all year it might make for an interesting game. Not saying they take it but they have a shot to really screw things up.

ESPN reported that LSU is in the National Championship game period. Even if they get upset by Georgia.

Are you sure why anyone would vote Bama #1? Wouldn't they have split this year with LSU going into Bama's home field and beating them? How would Bama deserve it more? Maybe if Bama goes out and wins 27-7 or something. But a close win would tell me that the teams are just about equal and a split of the title would be appropriate.

If the National Championship game is between 2 teams that didnt even win their conference....what more is needed to force a playoff system to be adopted and get rid of this scam?

I hope Georgia beats LSU. Bama and LSU play in the national championship game to a barn burning 12-9 game with 3-4 missed field goals with Bama winning. Georgia then getting crushed by someone outside of the SEC in a BCS game. That would be AWESOME! Then why don't we have all the past Heisman Trophy winners vote for who becomes National Champs. I think that would be the only fair way to settle it
