Her or So You Think with Aidan's son as the jock. I'll throw in Monterosso in the tri.

I like the More Than Ready combo in the 5th-Better Be The One and Regally Ready.

I think Haatheq has a big shot in the second. He should really appreciate the cutback and he has kept really good company. He is gonig to be a number and worth messing arond with.

I'll stick with Ortensia and Joy and Fun. Thanks for the heads up. I'm still working on the last 2 races. I hate it when my real life gets in the way having fun...

Thanks Lads - just heading home from Dubai now but looks as if the Bart has secured an easy victory - ill have the official scores in a day or two! For anyone even half interested in going over to Dubai for the races, I fully recommend it :-) its such a great event - its a bit like royal ascot but with better looking women :-)

I didn't know you were there mate. Would have been good to catch up for a drink. I agree, a great evening. It's a shame the event was marred by the loss of two horses.

How good were the fireworks!

I aim to get back there next year, and stay for a bit longer. Flying from and back to Oz in four days is hitting me quite hard now.

Many thanks for running the comp again, I couldn't contribute anywhere near a much as I would have liked this year, and after a few weeks out I decided to call it a day.

Oh God man, yeah would have been nice to meet up - I pretty much spent the night drinking in the Irish village, gave a few people Krypton Factor and Cityscape and then people started thinking I was some sort of racing genius and wanted me to pose with them in pictures etc.. I should be down in Australia later on this year if you are still there..

FINAL DUBAI CARNIVAL CONTEST V SCORES:

Well done to The Bart who had all but wrapped up the prize early on and cruised to the win - he consistently picked some very very juicy winners week in week out. Fantastic congratulations on a great performance and you were one of two (with Linny) who had the big winner Monterosso in their first two picks.. Send me on a PM and I will send you on a nice (small!) prize.

As ever the results are available here and let me know of any scoring issues: http://www.racingpost.com/horses2/re...012-03-31#1231

Rank Player This Week Running Total
1 The Bart 516.25 11,039.09

4 brockguy 2,160.00 6,475.55
5 Arletta 1,040.99 6,326.18
6 Linny 1,690.64 5,939.59
7 mclem0822 1,069.09 5,720.08

9 ryonker1 0 3,581.21
10 gamblin4ever 1,521.55 3,465.35

12 Roc525 0.00 910.55
13 NoChanceToDance 0.00 759.40
14 joeyp 0 0

As ever, it was a pleasure to do this contest this year (even though I had a little less time to do everything). We are lucky to have a passionate, dedicated following of Dubai racing followers here and hopefully with this contest (going strong for 5 years now!) people have become a little more interested in it. We have some fantastic handicappers on here and have a great resource in Pat Cummings as well who is doing such sterling work for the racing in Dubai..

If anyone has any comments or suggestions on the contest format etc, just let me know and we can see what we can do..

Sorry we didn't connect, Kev - was supremely busy. Still can't believe Ortensia was 6-1 in UK, higher on some books I think too...oh well. Thanks for running the show.

I didn't even hear of the Irish Village. Sounds like fun though, and after those two you would have been considered the messiah! I couldn't have had Krypton Facor on my mind if I'm honest - I guess that's racing. Great Fawzi Nass and his small team!

Be sure to let me know if and when you come down here mate. I'm here full time now. I'll be back in England for the horses in training sale at the end of Oct and then straight onto the Breeders Cup, but I'll be back on the morning on the Melbourne Cup and I'll probably head straight to Flemington (if I'm still awake after the flight!)
