That was an awesome effort from Nonios (even though Game on Dude won)!
Does that move up Blueskiesenrainbows's chances in the 8th race? After all, the last time Nonios raced on synthetic before this, Blueskies defeated him. |

They seriously ran 1 1/8th in So Cal in 1:52+. It's time for a break for Game on Dude.

Any thought that the track may be slow today?

Considering the fractions for the filly sprint race, one race before the Native Diver, it sure looked like the slowest SoCal track I can remember.

I stand corrected after looking at the rest of the times. That was a ridiculously slow track.

why does bob baffert insist on running capital account at 6F? He is 0 for 6 at the distance and 5 for 6 on distance more than 6f. He is by Closing Argument so 1 mile should be well within his reach. I am surprised they werent targeting the BC Dirt Mile instead of the Sprint.

If they didn't run yesterday, the only other spot would have been the Cigar Mile, which would have worked as it's one turn. I think your stat (which was mentioned ad nauseum on TVG yesterday) is kind of misleading. He's been close in some of his 6 furlong races and has led way before the 6 furlong mark in his 6 1/2 or 7 furlong wins. |

Maybe if Baffert had a time machine they could have run him in the Malibu, but it's restricted to 3 year olds and he is 5. Where is Doc Brown when you need him with the flux capacitor? |

My mistake on the Malibu reference . San Carlos Stakes on Feb 23 at 7f is a logical choice next out. |

Actually, Flux Capacitor, would be an awesome name for a racehorse

Hopefully someone reads the thread, names a horse that and gives us a small stake. In retrospect, maybe the Cigar Mile might have been a good chance to see what he could do going longer than he has...but it's not like he disgraced himself yesterday.

Maybe Steve can name a DeeTee horse that and get phystech to manage it

Hey Helicopter, you wouldn't happen to be related to Ron Ellis, would ya?
Just asking because of the comment about running an older horse in the Malibu. |
