Excerpt: "This poll is a disaster for the president," Todd said. "You look at the presidency here: Lowest job rating, tied for the lowest; lowest on foreign policy. His administration is seen as less competent than the Bush administration, post-Katrina." "On the issue of do you believe he can still lead? A majority believe no. Essentially the public is saying your presidency is over," Todd added. |

![]() Worth a new thread, but clearly too much work to go to the original source (it was an NBC/WSJ poll). WSJ is behind a paywall, but the headline says:
"Poll Shows Erosion in President's Support Only 37% Back Obama's Handling of Foreign Policy, but Respondents Side With Him on Climate Change and Education" Oh... Respondents side with him on some things... that's not nearly as dramatic as the Examiner's headline! And, the highlight from the NBC article on their poll: "Yet while Obama is unpopular in the poll, he looks like the homecoming king compared with the Republican Party." NBC article on the poll: http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/firs...ithout-n133461

![]() For some perspective, here's a Gallup page with a look at the approval ratings of the post WW2 Presidents, averaged together, first term vs. second term, highs, lows and as a graph. It's fun trivia:

It's quite a stretch to claim some sort of pathetic victory on. {JUST IN} The number of Respondents siding with him on "the sky being blue" are of the charts! Alert John Stewart! Fire up the spin machine! For the record, Romney would be exactly the same. But you know that. |

And actually, no, Americans have been remarkably resistant to accepting the reality of Climate Change: http://www.gallup.com/poll/167960/am...aggerated.aspx Which is bad and continues to be bad. If this were Game of Thrones, Iraq/Bengazi/etc. is the War of the Five Kings while Climate Change is the White Walkers bearing down on all of Westeros. We have no sense of what our actual serious problems are.

![]() So the complete and abject failures of this administration to govern the nation in a positive manner are because other 2 term presidents lost favor with the public in their 2nd term?
That's akin to explaining away the Titanic disaster by referencing the fact that "all maiden voyages have some hiccups" He has not made one competent decision when it mattered - he has repeatedly sat on his hands and waited to react to situations when they have already escalated to the point of disrepair. Except of course when he is bypassing the Constitution to pass laws...errr...executive orders...by himself in the middle of the night (NDAA) or releasing Terrorists back to their homeland without consent of Congress. There is a 6 1/2 year track record that documents this to anyone not wearing blue-tinted glasses. I'm not sure how one can continue to defend the indefensible. Oh wait, blame "Dumbya" for this meteoric decline in popularity...that always works... well, at least it works for Jon Stewart. |

![]() Regarding the cartoon - what an utterly despicable and deranged thing it is turning a 35 year old mother, daughter, and sister who spent the final moments of her life hopelessly fighting off a lunatic with a blade as he stabbed her repeatedly in the neck, into a punch line.

Listen, I get how people detest the previous administration, I've said it before that they all should be brought up on treason charges and at least tried. To continually live in the past, offering no solutions and incessantly blaming what happened 10 years ago is pathetic and borderline pathological. But to take the leap where you make a sick, vile joke - the punch line of which is a savage, brutal murder against a surprised, unarmed, woman (and young man) who had no ability to defend themselves is incomprehensible. If your hatred of Dick Chaney is still so much a part of your everyday life that this cartoon gave you a "chuckle", you really ought to consider therapy. Daily doses of Jon Stewart can't cure that mess. |
