Thanks, Joey, I bail out for the day! I was really hoping Bridgmohan would try taking that one right down the pike!

God I love Saratoga and Del Mar!

Will someone - anyone - please explain how the pace dynamics (24.68/49.46/112.74) has Handsome Dennis in last heading into the far turn? Seriously, you select a horse to be in a stalking position and that is translated to last? We all realize that the Spa air tends to change things to an extreme, but I am one step from selecting my horses, tossing them, and playing the remainder with a variety of 10 cent supers.

Overton Square? Shaun Bridgemohan? Seriously?

The only positive is an upcoming reservation at Nove!

Well, cannot argue with success! Hopefully, my Maiden Claimer 30K at CD winning in a 40KN2L is still to come this season! Should have just looked at the one line which was the 86 Beyer - that horse goes from 20-1 to 2-1!

You could ask that about every turf route this meet except for the one Thurgood won on Saturday where Vischer Ferry sped off. I used to think the incessant grabbing was only a winter thing here, but it's seeped into Belmont and now Saratoga. I liked Overton Square but he took advantage of yet another ridiculous pace on the turf that gave everyone behind him traffic trouble on the backstretch. I wish Frankie was staying for the whole meet.

So many funny points here - I had Vischer Ferry over the weekend - thinking that I could steal one on the engine. I just wish anyone in the jockey colony would adopt the New Jersey "burn and turn" strategy on the turf.

Great idea.. First Turf, stretching out, clueless jockeys that will let him go unopposed. Great Job...

Scott, to be honest I had a lot of trouble with that race which is why I changed my bet from the double I had played in the 8th. It was one of those times where I kept looking at the PP's over and over and I kept going back and looking at the 2. My experience is when I do that put the bet in as a lot of those end up winning.

I figured that considering the post Cox/Bridgmohan might decide to send the horse and try to wire them, considering how the course played today, I didn't really want any of the closers and just hoped they would do exactly what they did. And yes, off that running line two back I felt that this horse was good enough to beat what looked to me as a pretty weak field overall if the 2 could take to the turf.

You know that, providing that I can get through reading them in time, I am willing to do that anytime!

Thanks, Jim!

Turned out to be a pretty good opening weekend for me. Still, I feel like I should have done a lot more damage. The best part is that there is 6 more weeks of this!
