Already bombing away JB! I just picked the wrong one on day one

With the contest being such a short duration- 2-3 bombs will probably take this. Think of this as similar to some of the Colonial Downs scoreboards...one crazy hit would put someone way up there....until the next crazy hit happened.

Normal handicapping will get you to the top 100- but not where the prizes are. And even if we go 9 for 9 the rest of the way on Ness' trained horses, the odds will be reduced to the point where it won't matter.

GL all!

Ron

Then saw that the leader had over $3200, which I assume was the result of betting $100 on Flying Posse in Race 8, who paid $65.20 to win. My approach could not possibly reach that total in a full 10 days of play, even if just about every pick came in.

So, for the rest of the contest I'm going to completely change my approach. I'll simply try for the highest score of the day by making a single $100 win bet on a huge price horse and hope for the best. I guess there's no shame in having a score of zero for every day if you have the chance of having that single hit that could win the best day's performance. It's a bizarre way to play a contest, and is contrary to all of my handicapping habits, but that seems to be the only way to have any shot at all.

Does anyone else feel the same way?
I can't argue with you. Especially being only a 10 racing days contest, increasing the $ to the picks is the way to proceed.

Was fairly pleased with my first day, but yes it's time to abandon my usual conservative approach. That's the problem with faux money contests.

I guess that it's just too early for Friday's fields to be posted. Probably be available late today or early tomorrow morning.

Trying to make my picks, go to my tote board and it defaults to Dec 3, so I hit drop down and go to Dec 5. Race 1 comes up, can select a horse but there's no win place show boxes below to enter bet. Anyone else having this issue today?

I had encountered the same problems that others have mentioned when using I.E. Then I tried to login on Firefox and was able to make my pick with no difficulty. I'm taking a wild swing in Race 10 with $100 to win on #6 Tazdue at ML 20-1. On paper has no chance at all, but it seems like the only way to play this game.

I don't blame you. I am going to try it again on my phone, maybe once more when I get home. But it is ridiculous!

I am out too.. Didn't have time to make a pick. If they would of had the picks available last night then I MIGHT have been o.k.

What a lame site/contest. They need to work on it being right before announcing something. What a joke.

Good luck to the remaining 231 that were able to log on and actually make a pick.

race 8 I got lucky with #8 for $208. that put me in the 10th place today. But race#5 was a disappointment. At the stretch my horse #5 went from 1st to dead last. WTF
