Default True Detective ~ Season 2

This has got to be the biggest let down since "John from Cincinnati" for HBO.

Horrid direction, laughable script....It is even making accomplished actors (Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams) look ridiculous. Taylor Kitsch's character (who is the only bright spot of this wreck) is really the only reason I've managed 4 episodes.

I guess it would be unfair to expect this season to live up to season 1, but this dreck is unwatchable. WTF has Colin Farrell ever done well? Literally cannot name a more overrated hack in the business.

He was pretty good as the dick in Horrible Bosses.

i loved that show.........and then without ANY notice what so ever it just stopped airing, kind of like Treme.

I stand by this motto for this season so far........FFWD through the first 55 minutes of these episodes and simply catch the last 5 minutes, last and ONLY action in every episode, kinda pathetic

I watched every single episode of JoC just to find out WTF it was supposed to be about. I wish I had those hours back.

Ever since then, I've enacted the JoC "Rule" - you get my attention for 5 episodes - if you don't have me by 4, the 5th better be "Godfather Part 1 captivating", or I'm gone.

4 episodes into Season 3 of Treme = the first victim felled by the JoC rule.
(seasons 1 & 2 were GREAT)

After an epic season 1 run with McConaughey and Harrelson, True Detective season 2 is about to be the next, I'm afraid.

Whitewashed boring stereotypes driven by celebrities not fit for the role.

It's DVR'd...Now have to decide if it's worth 90 minutes of my attention to watch it.

You'll have to watch it thrice to understand what happened

I didn't think it was as bad as most here. Certainly not as good as last year but still very watchable.

Like everyone else, I watched it thru, but it was such a different show compared to what the first season was.

I 'think' I understand how it all shook out but I'm really not into focusing that hard on a Sunday night.

Now I thought Ballers and The Brink were absolutely great. I generally do not like Jack Black or those political type shows, but that show is absolutely hysterical, and Tim Robbins was a pleasant surprise in that role.

the whole line-up this season has run its course.
Ballers was interesting at first, the last 4 weeks have been the same loop of nothing interesting happening
The Brink.....my god, another one i thought had promise....nothing changes, it's the same plot every week on recycled jokes

i would be shocked if either got picked up for another season.

now....this looks interesting.....

Ballers is trying way too hard to be an amalgamation of Entourage elements. Entertaining, but kinda stale and already done.

I got to episode 7 of The Brink, and felt the same - similar gags/jokes every week. Gave up.

Did you see the trailer for Vinyl? Martin Scorsese’s new long form drama about rock in the 70's...Cannot wait
