Really bummed about his passing. I saw the Eagles last year - what a great concert.

Howard Stern did a great interview of Glen a few years ago - really good - he has some great stories. Also the History of the Eagles is a great documentary.

RIP

Just saw the news. Awful.

As for things coming in threes...yeah, thats bs. Another example of false pattern recognition., or an urban legend. Either way, a falsity.

I didn't get to see them last year, but I saw them a couple of times about 8 years ago. They were incredible. They sounded better than ever and they played for about 2 1/2 hours. It was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever seen. I also got to see Glen solo at The Tiger Jam (Tiger Woods' Charity Concert) about 15 years ago. The two headliners that year were GF and Celine Dion. They each did about a one hour set. It was a really good show.

I'm sure going to miss Glen. His music will live on forever. He had so many great songs. My top 4 would be Tequila Sunrise, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Lyin' Eyes, and New Kid in Town.

Here is one of my favorite Glen Frey songs. This is a relatively new song. Glen wrote this around 2004 or 2005. I loved it the the first time I ever heard it (which was at an Eagles concert). It is called No More Cloudy Days.

Seriously, 2016. Please stop. It's enough already.

Cameron Crowe wrote a nice piece on Glenn Frey. I had no idea they were good friends. Cameron Crowe wrote one of my favorite movies ever, Fast Times Ridgemont High. Crowe discloses that one of Damone's lines in the movie was taken from something that Frey said to him in real life.

The Eagles music has stood the test of time. They still sell out all over the world. Their music still plays on the radio every day. They are one of the greatest bands of all time. There is no better way to define a band's greatness than how the music stands the test of time. Their music has totally stood the test of time.

These guys who write these ludicrous articles are guys who have no ear for music and no taste. I actually know a couple of people who don't like the Beatles. But these same people would have no idea if I was singing on key or not. They have no ear. So their opinion is meaningless.

You know the saying Rupert...opinions are like a-holes...everyone has one. I think The Eagles were a joke..a horrible SoCal mess of country and "rock"...a gazillion people disagree and they made a fortune because of that. I just thought that headline was hilarious because it was, IMO, so true

After the long run.... Many moons ago... They have done nothing good and new in ages . A nostalgia act at best. Henley and Frey were big egos who screwed the band whenever possible . History of the Eagles shows their true colors.

People write articles like that for exactly the reaction that both Rupert and Bob gave.. Clicks = $ Probably written by a 30 year old hipster living in his parents basement....

I cut my chops listening to and trying to emulate Tower of Power horn riffs. Hadn't heard this news. Will have to get out the old vinyl discs tonight and toast them and my own good fortune for getting to know their music in my youth.

As for the "article" by Dan Zinski, he appears to have an overinflated estimation of his own worth and the value of his opinion. I'm reminded of the words of Donald Ivey, who (among other things) taught a wonderful, wildly popular History of Jazz course at UK. On appreciating music, he said that it's fine to say, "I don't like that music," but not to say, "I don't like that s.h.i.t," because in the latter statement you've labeled it as something, and it's entirely possible you're not qualified to make such a judgement. As jms said, Zinski doesn't appear to be interested in making a statement so much as generating click revenue.
