Default Los Angeles had an earthquake

6.4 or 6.6, depending on how excited the reporter is.
East of LA in Mojave desert closer to Bakersfield. Fires, road and structural damage close to epicenter. LA experienced it as a deep slow roll. There are the usual worries about aftershocks or that this the precursor to the "big one". 6.6 is big enough.

Southern California is doing the twist. Nothing big right now, but all those little faults (which you get with a plate boundary system) are adjusting to where that big 7.1 one wiggled to.
The loony toons predicting California is about to either launch into space or sink below Hawaii need to go back on their medication. In some cases it won't help them anyway.
