A pair of 2nd place finishes. Bourbon War was run down late and paid $3.80 to place, Point of Humor was 2nd in an oddly run race paying $10.60 to place. Final 6 days of what has been a solid meet. Let’s go out with a few bangs.

Lorenzen ran into a buzzsaw and did little running, as did Vitanza. On the bright side I didn’t manufacture collusion in an attempt to justify bad opinions, so I feel like I won.

Nothing yesterday.

Best bet- Race 12-#1 Dashing Dan
Longshot- Race 10-#2 Take Charge Tina

Bonus Del Mar Play- Race 3 #3 Hit the Road. This is a very good horse IMO. Very professional in turf bow. Exploded in lane and looked like he had plenty more in the tank. Last work was very strong.

Now you owe us another Del Mar bonus play as I was going to play along, haha just kidding.

Curious how many you are using in the Spinaway to get through the pk-4 if you are playing. It looks kind of a straightforward race and yet I have thoroughly confused myself with it. Currently planning on just using Jeremiah's horse and the obvious Mott. I think I can get through the 9th with just the 2,3 and like some prices in the 10th and 12th...one of those frustrating races where if I spread Mott will probably win but if I go narrow I'll miss entirely.

Take Charge Tina a late scratch. Substitute #8 Alandra in race 8

It’s a tough sequence. Agree in the 9th. I also think the finale is 1 or 2. I will probably use the 3 on a small ticket because I know that horse is going to eventually win and pay $30.

I don’t love the Mott in the Spinaway but obviously she’s a deserving favorite. I also don’t love Miah’s horse but she will be on my ticket. I’m using Figure of Speech also

Thanks for the thoughts. I think I’ll throw in Chad’s horse on your recommendation plus I read she’s worked well with Guarana which says a lot to me. Totally agree on the last but I also want to use NutzforBoltz as it seems like Agra’s has back on track and if we like Risky Sour why not he?

Alandra follows the old Steve Byk adage to watch out for Shug horses debuting at 7F.

Good luck today.

Alandra was very game in winning, paying $16.80 and $7. Dashing Dan got bet like he couldn’t lose and then set a fast pace and folded late. I’m actually glad what happened with Alandra happened yesterday because it shows how challenging only picking two horses a day can be. It was my idea, so I’m not complaining, but it means a lot of other horses I liked didn’t make the cut. All in all it was a fun meet. Probably not going to show a profit but didn’t disgrace myself either. I’ll have a better recap in a few days.

Meet totals
$296 wagered
$260.30 returned

Very fitting way to end the meet. Qurbaan, a horse I bet the last 4 times he ran won the Baruch and my best bet Emaraaty did little running to finish 4th. Longshot Impunity ran well at nearly 15-1 to run 2nd in the finale, but was unable to reel in another longshot, paying $12.20 to place. A win would’ve got me ahead in here for the meet, oh well. Fun meet, if I decide to do something similar next year I might tweet it up a little.

Meet totals
$304 wagered
$272.50 returned

So, Hit the Road scratched at Del Mar, but just romped in the Zuma Beach at Santa Anita. Very good 2 year old grass horse.
