Default I Finally Came to My Senses

I never thought I'd be saying this, that I finally came to my senses. It took a while. Thank you to all that endured my daily rants, "Bush bashings"...on and on. I was confused. All of you nice people made me think. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Despite the fact that so many lives have been taken, which was very upsetting to me, I honestly didn't take the time to evaluate or assess that which has been accomplished. To our great President, George W Bush's credit, the wise military leadership, and the ongoing sacrifice of those who serve, I'm thrilled to see that the objectives, the "mission" has indeed been "accomplished".
Regarding the task of finding and eliminating weapons of mass destruction- DONE!
Regarding removal and fair justice for a brutal dictator-DONE!
Regarding creation of a democratically elected government with a constitution-DONE!
Our objectives of "Operation Iraqi Freedom" launched on on March 20, 2003, have indeed been met, thanks to the wisdom of our leaders and the brave service of our military forces.

So, thanks to all of you for tolerating me when I doubted that these objectives would be met. I've come to my senses and realize that they have been, finally!

There yet remains the small matter of allowing the Sunni and Shia to resolve their sectarian differences, that are ongoing. This will be achieved politically between those factions, as US military intervention in this situation is not indicated. Let the concerned Iraqi factions resolve these disputes on their own. We've certainly done enough! The mission (s) have been accomplished.
Time to bring the troops home for their well deserved ticker-tape parade!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_War

And thanks again to all DTers for putting up with all of my doubts. We won!!!

Well yes, technically all of the pre-war stated goals have been accomplished as far as I can tell.

Don't get me wrong, I love the tone of both of these posts

Don't we have something like $20 million set aside for parades? You shouldn't need your own favors.

Brian,
I'm glad you're seeing the light! As far as parades, let's go ALL out!
besides the confetti, I'm thinking of bidding on the McKinney cheerleader pom-poms if they come up on e-bay. Heck, I'll even shave my legs so I look good in the cheer leader uniform I put on lay away.
Let the celebrations begin!!!

Wow!!! Not to hijack my own thread, but more good news!
Kissinger and Shutlz are coming on board!
http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/46336/#more
This is so totally great that I'm giddy!

Now the only difficult decisions I have to make are between the red-head long wig, or the shorter blonde. I've never cross dressed before. I think the red one will go better with the maroon cheerleader outfit. My sideburns have to go. Oh well, anything to show my appreciation as a proud American!
Peace! Glorious day!
The pom-poms aren't up yet on e-bay. Does anyone have some in maroon and white for a reasonable price?
Thanks!

Well, the school colors where I work are red/white - I can get you some pom-poms in those colors if you like, but only if I get to see the photos of you in a cheerleader uniform with your legs shaved

You are fairly correct with the stated goals - those are really the only goals that have been stated by this administration - what do we have left to do? Oh yeah, we forgot - we have to fight the terrorists over there so we don't fight them here in America... I forgot

Since we are fighting a concept and not an real enemy, this will be a very long battle... at least as long as Bush and Halliburton (oops, I mean Cheney) are in power.

Heck Derby Cat,
Those guys don't even have an airplane, and it's too far for a row boat, even if they had a port on the Persian Gulf. If they try anything with hot air balloons or any "funny stuff", we'll just shoot 'em down long before they get here. Remember, we do have 18 coordinated intelligence agencies that are ever vigilant. What are they gonna do, try box cutters again? We're on to 'em.

If you want the pics of me in my cheerleader outfit, I'll e-mail 'em to you, as soon as our warriors return to the deserved celebration of their victory.
Happy day!!! Well done, guys and gals!
HOOOH RAAH!!!

I worry about you big guy... either you've been drinking too much today or you just don't care that if you keep this up, the "Administration" will come for you - remember, you've given up your right to have your phone conversations private, they can read your mail, the President can make any law he wants with a "signing statement", heck, I bet the FBI is monitoring your tirade here on DerbyTrail right now....

I don't know you! You are obviously not a true American like me and all of the other God-fearing folks on this web site... I hope the FBI arrest you and you get sent to Gitmo, you atheist-islamic-loving-wacko! I have stock in Halliburton, for God's sake!

DC,
I'm not drinking.
I'm praising the victory. How can that get me arrested?
I'm happy that this is over with.
As I've said, I've come to my senses. My only tough decisions as of now involve the redhead wig or the blonde one. The cheerleader outfit is on lay away and you have the pom poms.
Agree now. Please, I've finally come to my senses.
My sanity depends on you Derby Cat! Is there anything insane about wanting to celebrate the return of our troops if they've accomplished their mission?
If so, FBI can show up right now. They know where I live.
BRING EM ON!!!!

By the time that the troops come home, your cheerleader outfit will no longer fit, and your clean shaven legs will have grown so furry you will be confused with Big Foot.

Must I keep reminding you... my Halliburton stock is doing well, I made a 22% annual return on my Defense/Aerospace mutual fund, and the big Dick (Cheney) has been surviving on a government employee (not a sub-contractor) salary... we have got to keep the Neocon machinery running - rich peoples future depend on it!

DC,
You got me thinking...about the FBI. If they come for me, I'll be wearing that very nice outfit. Gee whiz, if J Edgar could dress like that, I don't see that it will be a problem at my interrogation. I'm still undecided about knee high whites or ankle whites that go with the saddle shoes I've been saving.
What do you think?
Also, good going with your investments. Making money is good.

Derby Cat,
i just found some great news for you! Your stock is going to go way up!
You'll have to go towards the end of the article to see what I mean, and you probably know who restores the pipe lines.

Way to go Derby Cat! This sanity is very nice! So good to have our "heads screwed on right"!

My investments will only continue to do well so long as there are American troops in Iraq to protect the private American companies that I (along with other wealthy Americans, including members of the Bush administration), have invested in... without this protection of my investments, I wouldn't have enough money to play the ponies So, of course, I believe the sacrifice of young American lives in a country that never attacked us is a wise decision. Poor, uneducated kids sacrificing their lives so that I can splurge on unnecessary luxuries is truly the American way! Without the loss of over 3,000 lives and 50,000 other casualties, I wouldn't be able to afford to go to the Kentucky Derby this year! Now that's outrageous!!!!

This is my very simplified way of mocking the decisions America's leaders have made, but isn't that kind of what this war comes down to? Protecting the investments of rich Americans with the sacrifice of the middle and lower classes?

Really f'n sad...

p.s. go with the short bobby socks, wearing knee highs with saddle shoes will only make you look like a slut!

DC,
Good luck at the K D. We're all looking forward to it.
Americans know how to sacrifice. It's the price we pay for living in the greatest country on the planet...nothing sad about it at all.

And thanks, I don't want to look like a slut. Enough of those around.
I shaved my legs last night. Feels pretty good as the pants hang nicer.
I did get a little carried away though, arm pits ya know. No matter, it will grow back.
Man alive! I'm so enjoying my new found sanity!

Well, thank goodness he's got you, DTS, as Bush has apparently lost Utah:

Of course, Utah is well-known for its liberal bias.
