Please tell me that Reps or Dems have something better to offer than what they are offering up.

some of the same guys are running who were LOSERS in the past.

mccain
biden
gore

oh boy and newt gingrich might run. spare me.
then there's huckabee, former gov of arkansas. can't stand him, so glad we have term limits here!
mitt romney, but some are already referring to his continually evolving stance on gay marriage.
then there's guliani--claims he's a conservative, but two of the hottest issues in the republican party are one's which he doesn't fall in with the party line--he supports abortion rights and gun control.

ha! but newt is not going to "run," he is going to lay out a plan for america and if america "demands" that he is the only one to enact it and they insist on making him president, then he will take the job. he explains it in such a weird way.

giuliani would be not so bad for a republican in office -- the type i may actually vote for because the only thing i dont like about them are the social issues. if real conservatism (in the fiscal sense) would come back, nothing would make me happier.

i don't love him. Obviously there are lots of Democratic candidates that I would vote for -- but assuming the possibility that the Dems may somehow nominate some unelectable tool (ie Kerry), then the options open up. Romney is an idiot, so he won't go anywhere, because even he can't decide what he's talking about.

Think about it though -- I've been thinking alot about what will happen if another Republican wins the Presidency next year.....

I'd be pulling like hell for McCain (even with his stupid war rhetoric) and Guiliani before I'd take a Romney or a Gingrich.

It's more a matter of thinking ahead of time about how it COULD be if certain people got elected.

Thinking about how, if Giuliani or McCain were to win, then life would be tolerable. If Gingrich (no chance) or Romney were to win, I'd be looking into the JET program again so that I could try to teach in Japan for a year to not have to live here during another insane presiden't reign.

I guess I'm in the minority here cause I like both Clinton and Obama...I think that would be a great ticket in fact! As I've said before, I'd love to see Hillary Vs Condy.

I look at the person more than their politics...I like Hillary, she stood by her husband through ungodly times and isn't afraid to speak her mind! I don't hate Bill by a long shot...what he did with his cigars was never any of my business, the only thing that pissed me off about him was how for a very smart guy, he behaved so stupidly in his personal life. As President, he did a better job than most...a bit too conservative for me, but i think Hillary will move more to the left. I just like her as a person...I think a strong woman in the White House would move us forward!

Yeah, she's a great mother....look what she showed Chelsea she needs to tolerate from a man.

That's what I don't really get, "strong woman", stand by her man....I'd have much more respect if she left him.

Hillary Clinton, like her giant ankles or not, is extraordinarily bright. Hillary Clinton has proven the ability to get things done. She has made some very sweet deals for the business community in New York and is very much respected by that community. This lady is clearly a mover. She has shown the ability to get an extraordinary amount of things done, unlike those that choose only to disrupt.

Hillary Clinton spent 8 years in the Oval office already. She has extensive experience.

Now having said, that I dont like all her policies. But at least she has policies that I can read about, unlike many of the other candidates.

She is a force no doubt... That I most likely will not vote for unless I see some changes and explainations. But at least she aint hiding.

i was indifferent as to whether she left him or not -- but i think it speaks volumes that when all the feminists were calling on her to leave him, she made up her own mind. she forgave him and stuck with him. that's totally her own personal choice, and she made it even when others wouldn't understand.

yeah, I could understand it if it was the first time....but it wasn't.

guess we all have different values.

If he beat her you'd be chirping a different tune, emotional abuse is just as bad as physical in my opinion and it's repeated behavior.

I agree with exactly what you wrote. No doubt that Hillary is extremely smart and qualified. But her constant moving to the middle, moving to the right, moving to the left is tiresome. I wish she would pick a stance and stick with it.

i just assume that she knows her life better than any of us do, i'd rather look at her politics than her personal life -- just like bill clinton, and just like g.w. bush. i'm sure g.w. is a really genuine, decent human being, but i hate everything about his politics. i think bill was a total tool in his personal life, but a great president as far as doing right by this country.

if hillary can do the job, then i don't care who she chooses to stay married to, or why.

Exactly....a personal decision that none of us are in position to judge BUT the strength to do what she obviously felt was right in the face of tremendous pressure shows character...whether some outsider thinks it was right or not!
