I have to agree with Richmond. I have been to the Saturday night race for the past 2 years. It is by far my fav race of the year.

LOL, sure thing.

Their car was slow as molasses... he says that they're having some issues with keeping the horsepower consistent and they need to work on some aero concerns. Mikey seemed pretty happy, though... Toyota is willing to throw a lot of money at the teams. They don't like to look bad. It wouldn't surprise me to see one of the Toyota teams getting a win this season, but probably not until the second half of the season.

Wait, is your bf still working for Mikey?

I've been to the Ville, Dover, and Charlotte. Hitting Pocono and hopefully Richmond fall this year.

He's my ex boyfriend...but yes, he is Michael's crew chief this season (#55 Toyota.) Last year he was Ken Schrader's crew chief on the 21 car.

Oh, ex-boyfriend. GOt it. David Hyder. I always liked that Bootie guy who crew chiefed for Jeff Green.

Another Zito "feel the love" anecdote:

A few years ago I was on a Preakness backstretch tour of the stakes barns, spotted Zito and said hello and mumbled something about how I was a fan, etc. We chatted for a bit and he pointed to a man across the way and told me to follow him so he could introduce me to someone HE really admired and thought worth meeting.

Basically, that run-in with a most gracious Nick Zito made me a fan for life. Call me sentimental, but I'll always hope he ends up in the winner's circle.

if there is one thing in this world that is worse than nascar, its listening (or in this case reading) to people talk about nascar.

in over ten years of reading boards, i dont think i've ever asked anyone to stay on topic, but cmon! 2 pages of posts about nascar in a thread about top derby prospects?

Not sure if a bunch of dudes with a 7th grade education(at best) driving round and round for 2 hours should be considered a sport. I guess they try and finish the race as fast as they can so they aren't late for their hot date with their sister later that night.

That's not how it is, but I guess you're entitled to your opinion even though it's evidently an ignorant one. Most of those guys are smarter than most college grads I know. It requires an engineering background to even be competitive in NASCAR.

maybe it's me...but i'm far more annoyed by posts complaining about non-topic tangents then i am about the weird directions these things take sometimes!!
tell me something folks...when you go to a restaurant, and read the menu....do you place an order for what you want, or do you bore the waitress to tears bitching about stuff on the menu that you don't like to eat??

You serious? Come on man....while I do appreciate those guys for having hot wives/girlfriends.....most of them likely run into trouble trying to have a conversation with their pet rock.....
