Default Sacred Light

Anyone else think this guy's got a real good shot at Santa Anita race 7 today? 5-1 morning line for a 1 1/2 mile turf race. If he stays near those odds, he could be an interesting play especially with GG riding.

I always think he has a great shot.. Have liked him from Day One.. Hasn't been what he looked like he was going to be ever since that bad stumble in the Lewis (?) last year, but always seems to be on the verge of something good.

on the verge but never gets there...

I like the 6 and the 3 and of course would never leave frankel off on the grass...but I am not playing so don't take my word for anything.

Yeah, he's always worth 'a shot' but obviously can't be counted on.. I'm just thinking (hoping) he really likes running 12 furlongs today.

Agreed, I thought he was Giacamo but with more talent early in his career. I have been disappointed but I think he has a great shot today. I love this race, great wagering race. Using Sacred Light with Big Mistake and Sensational Score, and probably add in Victory Sign for a 4 horse tri.

7-5-1-3 tri-box.... Blanc always scares me... and could be just as logical to run with the 8 instead because of Frankel/Flores but could see the 1 over 10-1 so the price would be right...

I didn't look at the PP's, but is this the horse Aaron Gryder was riding earlier this year when he was somewhat on the Derby trail? If so, he kind of looked the part, like a colt who was finishing strong, just learning how to race, etc. I thought he had the makings of a nice colt, and showed some potential. He just never turned the corner. Then I think they tried the turf (maybe not). Then he was gelded and I kind of lost track of him.

Thanks. From what I've been told, he's kind of found his level of being "just a horse" -- not that there is anything wrong with that. He might be a useful, solid racehorse, but I don't think he is anything near what was originally thought.

He's not really a good try'er. Seems like he has a lot left in the tank, but just doesn't fire and go forward. Who knows, maybe he'll get better with age, maturity, etc.

Eric
