I cant get into college hoops this year either. Dont know why but it just seems so uninteresting. Hard to even root against Duke when they keep losing. When you find yourself watching the NO/OKLA Hornets games all the time you geta little worried.

I feel the exact same way you guys do about college hoops. I usually am taking note of when games are on and checking schedules, but this year I have had little interest. Hope this changes in March, I am sure it will.

No...Cito Gaston won two with the Blue Jays however. I think he is the only black manger to win the World Series.

Baseball then Horse Racing, then Football....I'd give up 3 years of my life for a Met WS win.

Had the Twins to win the AL at 34-1 last year. Needless to say getting swept by the A's was not a happy moment.

For me neither...they fought so hard in the second half to go out that way...injuries are always key, especially starting pitching!

Twins have become notorious for laying down in the postseason. Usually its the Yankees who are beating them but this past year the A's had their turn. I am neutral on the Twins but I find it hard to get excited about watching baseball played inside a bubble. Therefore I'd rather not see them in the postseason.

I think having a stretch where they ran up against the Yanks early in the playoffs had a lot to do with that, I think they deserve credit for being competitive in a small market with limited payroll! Of course, since I've been a loyal fan since 1954, I tend to be a bit prejudiced!

I found that normally fans of teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, A's, Phillies...et al...have little sympathy for the plight of the small market teams. In this day and age most can expect developing a few real talents only to watch them leave the team for the almighty dollar. That's what makes the Twins so impressive the way they consistently compete without monumental payrolls. To be honest...that's why I'd much rather go watch some AA ball, the sport in the purest form it can be. And hell, the price is right.

You are correct, however last year was very disappointing playing a non-overpowering A's team who got lambasted by the Tigers. I am a die-hard Tribe fan so I never root for them in the regular season!! I do root for them in postseason however when they are there.

I am a Red Sox fan with no desire to see any team except for the Yankees lose. I like small market teams, just dont like watching anybody lose to the Yankees and the Twins really embarassed themselves against the A's. Talk about not showing up. Even Santana (Mr Automatic) couldnt shut down a very mediocre offense. And the whole indoor stadium thing bothers me. Not real baseball in my opinion.

You obviously have had a lot of non-rooting time on your hands the past 40 or so years. Except when you watch "Major League".

We're installing new turf in the dome this week (i'm on the grounds crew).
Maybe it'll make them better .....not.
Sweet gig if ya love baseball like I do.

Dodgers win the world series this year. That is my prediction. I'll have my official division predictions as we near closer to March 30th.
