Default 3/14: AQU (Good card & Carry)

Pretty darn good afternoon of racing at Aqueduct Wednesday with several pricey allowances and a healthy carryover in the P6. While today's Big A action doesn't make up for the rather dismal winter of cards there, it does come a day after Steve Crist offered an honest appraisal in DRF of how lousy the racing has been on the Inner Track... The good news is that spring is approaching rapidly.

it is a very nice card i was shocked to see this for a wednesday, i like coa in the third race very much, hes on monopoly pricing, i think this horse will be a very square price with trainers such as shug, pletcher and contessa having horses in the race.

I would agree. In addition Mayan is giving up 4lbs over their last race. Someone will have to push Mayan on the lead though. Guess it comes down to the 2 needing a good break from the rail. Maybe the 4 can push a little.

I've met very few people (I'm not one) that make money betting and of those none talk about how much they bet or for that matter yell before or after the score. It's enough to just say I won and maybe, 'can I get you a drink.' LOL

What an odd day at the Big A...

And congrats to Simon Bray on giving out and cashing himself on the P6 with a $120 ticket... $6,000 (-ish)..

The lowest one I ever had was the Pick 4 at Belmont Park on BC Preview Day and it returned $33.00 for $2, at least I had it multiple times.

Honey Ryder
Henny Hughes
English Channel
Bernardini

Well the worst part of this meager payout was the fact that the P6 play part of the sequence was a hit 2x2x2x1...!!! $8... Didn't need the rest of the P4 suggestions for more $$... $8 for the $45 would have been OK.

Oh no.. I thought he bet it. We have the TV muted during our show, so when they had Bray on I didn't hear him.

Only a scumbag would post their selections and not play them. I can't wait until that channel ceases to exist.

While I wasn't jubilant I wasn't heart broken either. I think I bet $70 worth of PK 4s and collected around $120. So I wasn't to upset. Had I bet only 1 ticket with a lot of coverage I would have been upset as I probably would have it and still lost $.

With Bernardini it was more like a pick 3 any way. The only real question was Honey Rider after that I could have singled HH, EC and Bernardini.

But there is a reason they run the races, odd things do and have happened before.

Exactly Steve...If I remember correctly, the first leg of the P6 was also the last leg of the Magna 5 that day - an absolutely impossible MSW that wound up with a 31-1 taking it....I laid off both bets that day because of this race. Of course, I went 5 deep in the Big Cap when Lava Man was the obvious horse and actually lost money winning P4 bet...lol

They construct tickets to lose, not win. They are consistently giving out pick 4's and 6's going deep early and singling late just to have something to talk about during their shift. It's borderline fraudulent, especially considering they usually laugh about their losing tickets (Shrupp)
