Default Sunday 4

Had to go to Laurel to get our Sunday Pick 4 fix!

6) Starter 7500 brings Power Of The Porgi for sharp owner/trainer. Charasmatic unaltered 5yo is pure racehorse with nearly a fifty percent exacta crash rate in some 36 starts. A bit rank last time going two bends but still finished second to very sharp horse and Rodriguez takes over for todays seven-eights. Adding SMART PACE who lugged in badly in his comebacker and has not worked back (30 days) but mows these down if the bug can get him to settle and finish.

7) MAGIC MAKER has run two good efforts in as many starts and now gets rider relief and the lawn. The rail is way out and the outside box no fun but there is not much in here. Homebred is a half to a nice grass horse (300K) and should sit close enough to factor down the lane but adding firster PEMBERLEY whose dam could really run and brings steady drills for this and Fleetwood Max whose dam could not but will be favored and may try the "Bill Dailey".

8) HOT PROPERTY has these over a barrel at less than a bettable number. Only fear a runaway leader and there are several signed on. Mario superb judge of pace however and workout regimen spot on ... homer looks the days best for CDI executive.

9) Do not know the trainer but he has previously entered this 5yo out of class, at the wrong distance and on the wrong surface! Also this is her third trip in three weeks. T. D. back on after the bug drops a photo so we will take CATANGO in a confusing heat. This dash is on the hedge (a few tracks move the rail during the card) so adding drop dead closer Queen Ballado who gets Fogelsonger on the reride and has nothing to beat in her turf debut. Call it 1,2 / 8,9,11 / 1 / 9,11 and search for next Sundays sequence. Good cappin. BBB

Less than acceptable effort given the free square. Warner Jones bred Visionary continued his torrid form holding sway in leg one under 124 pounds and JL Flores wiining for the fifth time in six tries while herding our choice out the final sixteenth. These starters are so tough with the multitude of tracks and this heat featured four scratches. Do not use your horse up indeed.

My Crusader got up in leg two at an inflated $59 for the first turf son of Lion Hearted. Trainer completely unknown and it was flip day for the DRF. Our choice Magic Maker ran huge but very green and was beat about a length after being pinballed down the lane.

After the cinch single, the nightcap saw Papa's Girl get a soft opening quarter in :22 and change, then cruise her last 3/8's in :34 flat! Our choice ran well after a late jock switch to another no name. Maryland racing faces huge obstacles with adjacent racing states offering slots, and only one horse in either grass race had threatened par for the class. Had enough after last Sunday's debacle, on to Lexington. BBB
