You are not having a good week Somer! Sorry things are so bad. Maybe this week you will kick butt and take 1st place in b-ball!

Any job opportunies arise yet? You will probably find a much better job.

Somerfrost,
Excuse me for jumping into this thread.
I hope things work out for you. It sounds like you've been through a lot lately. I hope things turn around for you.
I went by the headwaters of the Susquehanna today. It's roaring but back within its banks. No word from Sumitas yet, either.
Hope he's ok too.

Hang in there..blue skies tomorrow.

Somer,
At least you will wake up tomorrow, look at your face in the mirror, and say to yourself..." I did the RIGHT thing."

Sure, it's a hassle. But look at what the others wake up to.

Best of luck.

LOL!
At least you're not living "in a van down by the river". - Chris, SNL.
Hey! It could be a cardboard refrigerator box at the side of the highway.

Things will turn around for you. Believe it!

Somer hope u are coping OK with everything. I know how bad floods can be.. Speaking of Suffolk Downs, nearly everytime I fly into the States, I fly into Logan in Boston and see Suffolk Downs in the distance. Finally went there last year the day Ashado won the Go For Wand by 10lengths, she saved me big time!

What exactly do you do Somer? Maybe move to Ocala. That is a booming horse world even more than before. Houses and farms up there are booming.

Somer i happen to be looking at the threads and it was upsetting to read about the current situation.Hoping that all turns out well for you and your family.Recently we've started to take care of 3 kittens i think about 5 or 6 weeks old. They belong to a cat that we've fed outside during the winter.Currently they are living in our garage and might i say quite comfortably.I called the north shore animal league which takes dogs and cats in for adoption but they are booked till August.Any othe orginizations you know about that you know would never destroy them?Again hope all works out.Take care.Mark.

Well, kittens almost always find homes...it's the adults who are in danger once in shelters. There are a number of local shelters who promise that they won't put any animals down that they take, pretty much have to visit and talk to staff. The smaller towns that have shelters usually have space and money to keep animals. We have 5 kittens in our barn right now, the three females all have homes and we are keeping the two boys...private placement is really the way to go if you have time to check potential homes...we always try to do it that way!
Thanks again to all for the kind words, they are appreciated!
John
