CALLING Byk - Street Sense "bi"

Do you consider that a geniune "bi" from Street Sense in his last. I completely disagree with it. This horse just went to the rail, it isn't like he bore in from tiredness, he has done that in all his races, just don't consider it a bore that is all

Alright, I just watched it like 10 times and I can't get a head on so I am going to re-consider it that it is possible that be bore. When he drifted in, Borel was whipping left handed and pulling on the right rein and he still did it, so I guess he did bore a little bit, just seems like a tendency with SS though, and not something out of the ordinary, which is what I thought 'bi' was for

But, of course he bore in. Just because he has a back history of doing it doesn't mean he didn't do it.

Once he passed Hard Spun, he bore in instantly...he finished the race practically on top of the rail...what would he have needed to do in your mind to justify a "'bi'" --- slam into the rail?

I just think that is instinct on his end, I consider a bore in when a horse is 5w and veers towards the rail or drifts down as in tiring, he was doing neither in my opinion. I can't see the head on so I can't be 100% but it sure looks more like instinct on his end, then an actual bore

I asked Byk about another one just recently, it was a horse that just ran at Oaklawn and came to Hawthorne to win that sixty sails(i think). Horse has a BI and I was having none of that.

I agree with you that it's correct to assume it was habit/instinct on his part...and very likely nothing else...such as a tipoff to a soundness problem.

However, he bore in.

Agreed... It's been firmly established that Street Sense is an unusual horse in that he prefers to be inside other horses.. Once clear of any horse, his tendency and predilection is to dive to the rail.

There is also the infamous "finishing touch" angle. Jocks/horses once they pass a horse in the deep stretch move over in front of the other horse (generally towards the inside) as a statement that the race is over. Been on both ends of that stick here.
