What a race. Another great trip for SS.Just came up short. curlin looked like Easy Goer out there having troiuble handling the turns, and really leveling out in the stretch. Great race by two very nice colts..

Well, there's always next year.

What a finish, though! Very exciting.

That was a hell of a race.
About as good as it gets.

Curlin did it the hard way.
No crying, no nothing, the right animal won.

SS's connections made no excuses. They had a clean trip, just weren't good enough today. Hopefully these 2 can stick around long enough to build a rivalry... and I'm not talking about in the breeding shed.

Great win by Curlin. I feel really bad for Helen Pitts who developed this great colt

That's BS. This had nothing to do with Street Sense's quality. Just say his own bad habits beat him but don't go trying to say he didn't have enough talent to win. And clean trip? He had a little issue earlier in the race or did you miss that? Not a huge problem but momentum wasn't unimpeded. As far as the stretch and Curlin, both of them hung but when they hung is what mattered. Curlin did but had time to rebreak when Street Sense went by. SS hung and Curlin didn't go by til it was too late for SS to go again. Not to say Curlin's not a fantastic horse but SS beat himself. Blast.

They both ran terrific. End of story. It was a head bob. They are the 2 best 3yr olds. Let's hope they are around for their 5 year old season. A great race to watch.

Great race. Great win for Curlin.

Would have rather seen Calvin not turn around in shock in the final jump. God that annoyed me.

Finish.

But take nothing away from Curlin. Passes and then comes back. Just awesome.

Great run by Curlin, especially after stumbling after the start. I personally thought he was a toss this race. I give him all the credit in the world. I look foward to watching him race in the future. As far as SS, you can not take anything away from him. He ran very well again. Missed going to Belmont by a nose. Was he moved early? Not sure, but he was beat by a very good horse.
