Default Does Anyone Handicap Full Time?

I'm very new to this and was wondering if anyone out there does this as their primary job? Is that even possible? If so any advice for how to get there?

Thanks again,
Terry

If you think you are doing alot of work on the races, start by tripling that. Remember now that the pool of players has shrunk you are competing against alot of sharp people so its very very very hard. Throw in the track take out rates, well it is not impossible but dang close.

One could also buy a seat, take some cash, and trade pork bellies and corn for income ... probably a more stable profession than earning a living via handicapping

Seats on the commodities floors are going for 10% of what they did 10 years ago... might not be a bad idea!

Gee, gotta miss the 1980's, hum? Boy, I had crazy friends back then, young, cash rich, reckless in Chicago, thousands up and down in a single day ....

Key word, "principal." I'm quite sure he's not a volunteer for DRF and Youbet...

I've only had about 3 wks in my life where handicapping was my "principal" source of income.

with the tracks 20% vig....its pretty much out of the question.....way too many races with "zero" value to the bettor taking the risk.

I am giving serious consideration to it. I have one year of school left (6 classes) for my 2nd bachelors in a worthy field (Accounting, my marketing degree is worth about the stuff I wipe my ass with) so I am considering doing it for a year starting with a 2k bankroll and building, if it works, then no real job and I get to do something I have a passion for, if it doesn't, I crunch numbers and unload on the weekends

Does anyone every get to the point where you can't even stand to look at the racing form? I know a couple of years ago I was playing alot and I also went in to a contest. By the time that the contest was over, I was so burnt out that I didn't want to see a racing form for weeks. I was doing ok, so it was not the fustration of losing. I guess I needed a freshening. Has anyone else ever have this feeling?

No way.
Even if I could... Handicap every day.

I must have mental holidays.
I think handicapping is fun and I like to keep it that way.
The race replays have also become a major source for me that really helps.
The internet is changing the game in so many ways. I have become much more accurate watching replays and getting a feel for a horse's style.

visual learner I am.
but I love lots of little numbers also, they just dont tell the whole truth.
