This isn't about Christians or religion...and how do you know that they were "rejoicing at the misery of others"...gimme a break. If I were there (at the church, or at the mall, or wherever) I would have applauded him too, and not because I was "rejoicing at the misery of others", as you so dramatically put it. I think the guy showed some backbone considering the circumstances, and did the right and reasonable thing considering the circumstances. "Rejoicing at the misery of others..." are you serious???

Please...do yourself a favor & don't try to put me on your cyber-couch...I'm not the one that needs it here, believe me...and besides, this isn't about the judge, remember? It's about Ms.Hilton! Focus! You will see this eventually!!!!

OK, here's the thing...I've really tried to have an intellectual discussion with you, I ask questions, state my point of view and provide facts or at least information that has been made part of the public debate. You....well this post is typical, I ask a specific question and you respond with the usual nonanswer, choosing instead to make cute little demeaning remarks toward me...I don't see the forest for the trees, or my view is ridiculous or other such mush. Do you even understand what I'm saying? You don't have to agree with me but it would help for the purpose of debating if we were on the same planet. I can say 100 times (actually I may have by now) that this is NOT about Ms Hilton, this thread or at least my involvement in it is about the judge's actions...no matter, you go back to the same old rhetorical nonresponse. So...this has become boring and is going nowhere, if I haven't made my point by now I never will.

I understand you are in the business of judging the judge, yes. I also figured that you'd eventually refer to yourself as an "intellectual", implying that anyone with a different (albeit mainstream...oh no, the M word!) opinion is not on the same planet as you. Guilty as charged!

Again, no facts, no statement of position, just another personal attack, of course I never referred to myself in that manner nor have I implied that someone with a different pov is somehow "inferior"...what do you do, pick out words at random from my posts and make things up as you go? Having a discussion about opposing points of view implies that both parties are willing to contribute to said discussion...here I post my views and you play word games and post personally belittling comments

This thread is about Paris Hilton, not the judge. The judge is not on trial here, and the judge is not the one that got the DUI and the subsequent charges to warrant this whole mess. If you choose to put the judge on trial, that's certainly your right. If her sentence is on the extreme side, so be it...DUI is a serious thing, and she could have killed someone. 5 days is not the same as 20 days, or 40 days, etc....despite what you said (way) earlier in this thread. ArlJim had some good posts earlier in the thread that summed it up well.
