So you all know, the AFI list? The ballots are sent to the members. My dad gave me his to fill out (all you had to do was list 10 films) and i know my neighbors gave theirs to the mailman. Top 100 "by a panel of experts" means nothing.

Citizen Kane..... groundbreaking for its direction.... no one had ever before cut holes in the floorboards, etc., to get the shot. He was a true pioneer.

So what movies did you and the mailman select? I like the Imdb list better than AFI's...

hmmm, I am a little disappointed that there are no Mel Gibson movies
Braveheart - The Patriot

and disappointed that Saving Private Ryan made the list. Whenever the americans died it was gruesome. The enemy only died when unarmed and trying to surrender.

No Lord of the Rings trilogy

No Cool Hand Luke

other personal favorites

Two-lane Blacktop
The Matrix
The Sand Pebbles

not top 10 material I know

I do remember them having us watch Fail Safe in school. What a bunch of commie sympathizers those teachers

I love Dr Strange Love

just recently received Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia starring Warren Oates.

I love that era

Speaking of which, I think Gettysburg is one of the most under-rated movies out there.
if you've not seen Glory, then you need to. it's FAR better than Gettysburg for civil war movies.

You are right. The IMDB list is much much better than the AFI list.

If you ask me, there should be a law making everyone see the Passion of the Crist, even people in the North.

Especially Jews in the North!

why?

to show how the italians really were the ones that let the execution happen?

or is it that you think we've never seen any snuff films?

i'd say the former is the slight favorite.

Sir, I believe you're reffering to the Mel Gibson classic Passion of the Christ.

I clearly stated that everyone should be made to see the underground classic 'Passion of the Crist'

It's a story chronicling a year-long obsession by the Daily Racing Form's Steven Crist, to beat his rival Mike Watchmaker, in a game of Foosball at a New York city BDSM fetish club.

Crist goes to extraordinary lengths....including ignoring to cut his hair or groom himself in an apparent attempt to try and gain a psychological advantage on Watchmaker.

There are some steamy and disturbing scenes, including a cameo by Jan Rushton wearing a pair of leather assless chaps as she whips Tom Durkin while forcing him to comment on a golden shower on the other side of the room (given by Jeanine Edwards and recieved by "Hammerin" Hank Goldburg")

But, otherwise, it is a very inspiring story of one mans unwavering determination to succeed when the odds are stacked against him.

It's a little like Rocky actually......just with a lot of Foosball being played in a kinky setting.

I believe it won an Oscar in 2004.

i'm not sure about the oscar, but was that the independent film that debuted to rave reviews at the sundance film festival several years back?

i've been looking for that movie at netflix and on ebay, but alas, to no avail.

i cant even find it on btjunkie.com

i especially want to see that part with jerry bailey in it!!!!

Sightseek seems like a real classy lady Mortimer. She couldn't and wouldn't handle me.

And besides, I already have two people living in that area who have vowed to "kill me" if they "see me" --- I wouldn't want Sniper to be the 3rd.

However, don't think I won't rejoice when he finds you and snuffs you out.
