yeah, at Ascot, 12f looked to be just strecthing his stamina.. I think he'll be decent around this distance but may have to go abroad like Youmzain last year to get a G1 this season!! or then again he may be a champion stakes type later on.

He did an interview for ATR the other week and he was talking about how cheap it was to train in the US and the prize money was sometimes more than double what it is over here. At the end of the interview it seemed like he had convinced himself that America was the place to be. I wouldn't be surprised if he is training out there within two years.

. ASK looked to be nearing a return to racecourse action when impressing under Kevin Bradshaw on the Cambridge Road Polytrack in Newmarket on Saturday morning. A 25-1 chance for next month's Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe, Sir Michael Stoute's colt hasendured a luckless summer since taking the scalp of Scorpion in the Group 3 Ormonde at Chester in May. Ruled out of Royal Ascot at the eleventh hour, Ask appeared in better shape when mastering Jeremy (JD Smith) and Papal Bull (Jaqi Hills) over a mile. Stablemate Cabinet, an unlucky loser at Beverley last time, strode out in similar fashion with Greek Well and may bid for recompense in the £100,000 John Smith's Stakes at Newbury next weekend. One-time Derby fancy Spanish Moon , who suffered a fracture in the spring, moved closer to a comeback when matching strides with Fourteenth. The son of El Prado has had nearly 11 months of inactivity since beating a hatful of subsequent winners on his debut over 7f at Newmarket last October. Luca Cumani used the adjacent Watered Gallop for his workers of whom Ebor winner Purple Moon drew most attention when matching strides with Bauer and Futun in some easy work. Nicky Mackay rode the white faced Monte Alto in a sterner spin with the unpronounceable Furmigadelagiusta over a mile. Michael Bell used the same facility to give Hoh Mike a blow ahead of a possible outing in the Group 3 Dubai International Airport World Trophy at Newbury next Saturday. The three-year old, who moved well in a solo exercise, has the Prix De L'Abbaye as his big end of season target but will first head to Berkshire if the rains arrive. Two-year old Redford (Dave Murray) ran into subsequent Group 2 winner Spacious at Leicester last time but will look for easier pickings at Newmarket on Friday after moving ahead of Ink Spot over 6f. James Eustace had used the Al Bahathri on Friday to enable Lady Avenger (Hayley Turner) to limber up for the Group 3 Firth of Clyde Stakes at Ayr on Saturday. The chestnut has been absent since finishing a gallant seventh, on ground too firm for her, to Elletelle in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot in June but looked back in business when striding clear of two others. One to note Lady Avenger (James Eustace) Has done well for her enforced summer break and should prove potent in Scotland next weekend granted some juice in the ground.
