Default For fans of The Green Monkey

Unraced three-year-old THE GREEN MONKEY (Forestry), who sold for a world-record $16 million at auction in 2006, worked five furlongs from the gate in :59 4/5.

With the way the Pletcher barn has been going this past week, they may be getting desparate an hoping to get him in the starting gate.

Have they declared when he'll run in an actual race yet?

15 yard penalty.

unneccesary roughness.

this is the flip side of the last week in april newbie "i like the derby favorite" post.

enough. i think everyone gets it.

Default Rumors about a start swirling

This could be it. We'll find out tomorrow.

http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbH...0825-20070825D

The question is does he go in Race 4, 8 or 9?

Seriously though, oh how I hope he runs on Saturday. It would quickly go from Travers Day to Green Monkey Day, as it would be more of a highlight than Street Sense allowing his owners to "paint the canoe".

Great Avatar by the way. I'm oddly very excited over the prospect of The Green Monkey running, it's sorta like staying awake late hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa Clause when you were little.

I am going to pray for him to run this Saturday, so I can play against him. Will be the most overbet maiden in the history of horse racing

Saturday would be perfect. There is no giveaway planned for Sunday, so if he runs they could give away those GREEN MONKEY BOBBLEHEADS they probably have sitting in a warehouse in Astoria away. I smell an new attendance record!

Do you not think five furlongs from the gate in :59 4/5 is just fine for a young horse working towards his first start?

Working 5f in 59&4/5s from the gate is a pretty good work....Keep in mind that this is a 3yo colt not a 2yo...

On edit....the workout was down at Belmont...

They're all bred to work in 59.4. It's how he did it that really counts.

Not to those that have this silly disparaging thing going for the poor horse.

Seriously, I deal with pains in my ass all day long and no one sends me on vacation to a farm.

If he debuts Saturday, it could be bigger than Street Sense winning the Travers! LOL!!!

Let me preface this post by apologizing up front. I just could not help myself, especially since I, well, you know what you said earlier!

Ok, here goes.

Does Morty know about these pains in your ass that you have to deal with all day long??

Sorry!

Yup, doesn't he call him the Semi Conductor or something like that?
(you know I'm just kidding with you!)
