Default Slow times on the turf at Belont

Am I wrong but the times at Belmont on the turf have seemed very slow last few days?

Heavy rainstorms have been softening the turf courses for weeks.

However ... this week is supposed to be sunny and blazing hot. By Wednesday ... and especially by Friday ... the times should be much faster as the courses harden.

P.S. Three other Joe E. Lewis bon mots ...

1. "Any man who can lay down on the floor without hanging on ... isn't drunk."

2. When a waiter brought him a glass of water ... "Hey, pal ... I said I was thirsty ... not dirty."

3. When asked if he had ever met royalty ... "No ... but I once shook hands with Count Basie."
