Hemingway's Key = I remember seeing him at Tampa Bay Downs a few months back. Maybe we will see him at Beulah or River Downs next

Spanish Chestnut continues to get stomped every month or two in stakes races. He must really look terrible working on the turf, because you'd think they'd try him as a turf miler by now with that pedigree.

Formblog over at DRF has Dan Illman saying this:

I'm fairly certain that...Scrappy T [was] retired after [an] aborted comeback. Spanish Chestnut hasn't worked since last year, and has probably been retired.

Scrappy T was not retired. He injured a gluteal muscle working 34 flat in his first work under a tiny exercise rider. Scrappy is a very tough handful of 17.2 hands!
He's been at a rehab/training facility in KY. but has not been officially retired.

I saw him at AQU for the Wood Memorial, stood right next to him. He was a solid 17hh then as a very early 3yo. I'm 5'8 and couldn't see over him.
I was told that by late last year he was over 17.1 and I believe the person who told me.

Steve, you know I have all kinds of "powers!"
