I privately clock horses in the mornings...I get the splits/fractions of the works, the trainer name from the saddle cloth and the markings of the horse, I also get the out times after the finishline...but tying all that info to the name of the horse can be difficult

The final time of a work is much less significant than how it was done...was the horse in company...was the first 8th or quarter slow...how much urging or restraint was the horse under...how did the horse gallop out for the next 8th or quarter...was the final 8th slow...having all this info does ya little good without the name...

In my humble opinion having this info when betting 2yo mdns is invaluable and with it betting mdns and horses off a layoff can be very profitable.

I would like to see more tracks have later starts/night racing a couple of days a week. I love when NYRA has the sunset racing and Hollywood has the 7pm start on Friday.

I'd like to see Delaware Park change its claiming rules so that you don't have to be a "new*" owner, or stabled on the grounds, or have started in a race before you are eligible to claim. Gill is pretty much out of the claiming game so change the damned rule!!

(* "New" owner is defined as a person who has not held a license in any jurisdiction in the past 365 days. )

I'd also like to see MD change their jockey "workman's comp" funding policy so that each and every licensed owner doesn't have to pay $250 when obtaining a license. Instead, I would like to see MD charge an owner each time he/she races. If I only run 1 time in MD, I pay $250. If I run 1000 times, I pay $250. Why not charge a fee, much like a gate fee, each time a horse races to fund the policy?

In my humble opinion having this info when betting 2yo mdn is invaluable and with it betting mdns and land horses off a layoff can be very profitable.

i apologize, when i first read your post above...i thought you wanted the name, age, color and gender of the trainer.

hehe, i guess you meant the horses.

I missed out on the discussion but I couldn't agree more. The IRS signer rules are just plain criminal

sorry IRS and criminal are redundant

Probably the trueist axiom in horse racing.

I would like to get a better angle on all weather surfaces. Which is really better for the horses? Which really is the most like dirt? Will we eventually do away with dirt? How long will it take to figure this out?
