Never seen an optional claimer quite that high on the N.Y winter surface...

Could get some showers. I have not seen a big reason to go crazy about mud pedigree and back success on an off track in New York. It seems like they run to form and class, but some people go for that stuff. Morning Perks seems to have a lot of good signs if the track should be off, for whatever it's worth.

decent race , and the card has a few interesting races

There were 8 races last year run over the inner dirt at an optional claiming price of $100,000. Will have to delve further to see if there were any claims last year. Too late tonight.

Sinners and Saints is probably worth 50,000... that's about as close to 100 as this field gets

I doubt it.....

Gulfstream has been running $250,000 optional tags the last couple years. I'm pretty sure Take D’Tour won it a couple years ago beating Balletto. I dont think Baletto was available for a tag, but I'm fairly certain Take D'Tour was and not claimed.

Only two horses running for $100k tag in five horse race. #5 Morning Perks is strange case as he is NY Bred but his sire is one of top Louisiana sires, Afternoon Deelites. I didn't know that AD had any non-Louisiana runners.

Nkosi Reigns looks like a horse that got the aids in Dubai and is near death now.

Levine really did a number on Explosive Heat, and the work pattern is very reassuring.

Never was impressed with Nikosi Reigns, but they are dropping in class and distance and putting the blinks back on.

If Explosive Heat is sound, the question I have is whether or not Sinners N Saints will finish out of the exacta. SnS has that off the pace style, and the mud and Luzzi make for some doubts. There just aren't a whole lot of great alternatives. I think Tiger D.R. looks too cheap.

#3(Explosive Heat) top and bottom of the 1,4,5.... Will that even pay anything

It's nice to see Sheikh Mo Jr. carry on the family tradition of ruining decent horses.
