Default British Invasion of Saratoga!

I put this here-but move if needed.

Tickets went on sale about an hour ago for the SPAC concert for the Police and Elvis Costello-after racing on Friday August 1st.

On another Saratoga related note. How dare they close the Church Street Price Chopper

I'm sure the $250 ticket price is a big hit.

On the Price Chopper issue......just another example of the needs of the less fortunate being ignored in this country. Then again, Saratoga did just elect a Republican mayor, though I doubt you can pin this act of greed on him. It would be nice, however, if some reasonable alternative could be worked out. Somehow, though, I doubt it.

For a band that hasn't done any new material in years I'll just listen to thier old CD's and use my money elsewhere.

Was the Church Street Price Chopper the official supermarket of the poor?

It's not that as much as it is the only market that is accessable for people without cars.

If I had to choose, I'd rather pay that to see Elvis than this reincarnation of the Police

Agreed.

Of course, I would rather do just about anything rather than see Sting or the Police.

I paid $250 apiece for McCartney tickets for the Driving USA Tour and The US Tour.

Well worth it.

I wouldn't, but that is just personal preference, but I think McCartney is still relevant and does enough of the Beatles stuff...right?..that it's a great show.

I'd pay $250 to see Led Zep reunion, Pearl Jam-Who combo ( if they do that again) and that may be about it

I never liked the Police.

I paid $250 face to see the Who do Tommy at Radio City Music Hall back in the late 80s. But, it was a benefit, so I felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

Not that it's not now, but $250 in the late '80s was a hunk of coin

Saw the Who many times from '81 on...indoors, outdoors...Roger always delivered..sometimes Pete was up to it, sometimes the guitars off stage carried them

Kids Are Alight still a great DVD to pull out every so often

I meant to tell you, there's a documentary about them that is playing at Lincoln Center a few times this week. It doesn't have a distributor but maybe it will get a DVD release sometime. If I check it out I'll let you know.

I wouldn't pay $250 to see Sting play Johnny Be Bad on his lead bass guitar.

I wouldn't pay $250 to see anybody.

And most of these wretches grew out of the "flower children...everyone's your brother / sister" era.

You could probably still see Buddy Guy today for a $10 cover charge and still have more fun and "ah don't care's" than a barrel of elitist, overhyped, grossly overpaid drunks and drug addicts.

First of all.......you don't have $250.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way......I highly doubt you can see Buddy Guy for $10 unless you run into him on the street.

But if I did...I still wouldn't.

Oh really?

It wasn't that long ago he would play local, little spots for the very same opposite reason these archaic rapists play the big bucks scene

And I did TOO meet those 3 guys.
