Default Who will be at Saratoga tomorrow?

I am coming up tomorrow to watch these two races. Only for the day though and will be back for a few days next weekend to catch some am workouts and the sales because unfortunately I am not going to Arlington to see Showing Up.

I would be interested to meet some of you, but I doubt I will be able to sit around and chat because my girlfriend is coming.

Let me know where people are so I can come and atleast say hello.

I will be there but not able to stay the entire card. Probably the best place to meet is Steve's BBQ stand. Do you know where that is?

I think I know where it is. I am taking Amtrak up and my girlfriend is going up just to see her sister so I don't know when I am going to head over to the track. I might go over around noon to scalp some seats and then come back later for the big races, but I am sure I can get lost for 30-40 minutes when getting seats and say hello to some people.

I should be around in the mornings though all next weekend and monday.

You don't have to scalp. They have plenty of security guards and undercover guys watching the bartering over by the place where most of it goes on. YOu have to be insane to try and sell a seat over there for more than face value. You will end up paying face value.

Toga - like Belmont - is so friendly to the average joe that just wants to go and see some good racing without paying an arm and a leg for seats. Even on a decent stakes weekend like this weekend, I'd suggest just paying admission, then stake out a good spot on the stretch rail to see the races. No need to pay out the wazoo for seats.

Throw a time out and I will try my best to be there. I can go early but I will have to leave and come back for the late pick 4. We dont even need to meet at the track, downtown is actually better for me.

Slot is absolutely right. This place isnt Fenway Park where people make a living selling seats. Hopefully it will never turn into that either.

We are lucky enough to have season tickets through work, but even being free I still dont use them, save for one or two days a year with my wife. I like to walk around and be where my friends are.

I always get great seats if I just walk in. For years I waited on the line early in the morning for the seats they made available, then somebody told me just go scalp them. You only pay a little more. It isn't like a Yankee or Mets game. Whitney and Travers day are usually tough to get but there is always somebody selling. My girlfriend will only come over if she has a seat and she only likes the big races. Personally I would just sit and watch them on tv, I could care less about being there but if I am heading up on the train I am going to see some live racing. Saratoga for me is all about the mornings though, I actually can't stand the crowds during the racing day.

I think I'd actually prefer to be out in the picnic area at Saratoga on the average day, even tomorrow. Great ambiance, plus the world's supply of televisions to catch the racing action.

Is Albany the best airport to fly into to get there? I've never been to NY State at all and would love to go to Saratoga at some point.

Cajun-

Its pretty much your only choice unless you have your own plane. Its very convenient too. 30 miles from Saratoga race track, and you only have to take one road to get there, I-87. Get on I-87 at exit 4, head north, get off exit 14 and Saratoga race track is on your left about 1/2 mile once you get off the exit.

Cajun yes. Fly into Albany. Then either Gander or myself or a team effort will insure you get up to town from there and back down for flight. I'm going down to pick up a friend of lansdon's who is arriving at the airport today as a matter of fact.
If Tim and I were able to get Kev up here and back to the airport safe and sound, we can handle anything!!!

Thanks, Mike. I may try and head up there next month... perhaps the 9th and 10th. I'm looking into it.

LOL! My wife's best friend. Our 5th and last (thank god) wedding of this year. At least its local and I can make the track on Sunday & the last day.

Cant believe I am missing the Forego and the Woodward for a wedding, but I guess it could be a worse weekend.

Shiat, we'll be in Virginia the last weekend of August, so I don't think I can push another trip that soon. I don't know why I thought there was was racing that weekend, but I guess I was thinking of Belmont. Damn...
