Prado
If I took Prado over JRV in the Road to the Roses contest - I would be the only person in the national overall contest to have 200 or more points scored and have a decent overall lead.
What basically killed me was Check It Twice. At the time of the contest, I thought he would be the key to me winning the whole thing. I took him, I took Pletcher, and I took his jockey Johhny V. over Prado and Desermeaux solely because he had the mount on the horse I thought had a great shot to be the eventual leading point scorer in the contest at the time. The very next day it was announced that Check It Twice had a problem...he's been off the trail since. Pretty tough break - not just because I lost a horse right off the bat, but because it put me on the wrong jock just like that. Had it started a day or two later - not only would I probably have taken Prado - but it was very likely that I might have used either Tale of Ekati or Momba in place of Check It Twice. ToE was the horse I bet in the Juvenile last year - and while I didn't like Monba...he was going to be the post time favorite in a Gr 1 two weeks hence. It seemed like EVERYONE had Monba besides me. It seems like a miracle that I'm in 27th place nationally when my whole plan for winning it all centered around Check It Twice. |

I'm going to invite you over to my grandparents place - and myself and five other friends of mine (if I even have that many anymore) are going to beat the piss out of you and post it on YouTube and KyRim's myspace...
And all that while Emily and Sighty-poo stand outside as lookouts - knocking on the door from time to time to warn us to keep the noise down. |

Things could be worse, for example you could be ranked 14,072 nationally like me and have Gomez and Leparoux.

If I had JRV and Prado I think I'd still be in the national lead as well. More importantly, are you doing anything this weekend? ... If not, you're welcome to attend the Hossy Beat-Down bash at my grandparents place. Bring chips and salsa if you can. |

DrugS, fine work on Stevie's show. Can't wait for Morty's segment when Thistleydowns starts. |

I only have one grandparent left - and he lives in an apartment overlooking the lake - we just might have to open up the sliding door thingy and toss you in afterwards.

Hey DrugS....I think the difference between you and me in the RTTR, points-wise was Monba vs. Cowboy Cal. I had Monba in my original 10, so he really redeemed himself Saturday!
I am 23rd overall now, but Gomez has been killing us both. Now the challenge is picking the right 5 for the Derby.

I know. The first three are easy - it's the other two that are tricky.
