I think Big Glen, Samba Rooster, and Riley Tucker all have legit chances of winning this race.

Riley Tucker will be NO WHERE NEAR that price at post time, and with his earnings, I think he has a shot at the Derby also, I think he got 2nd in the Arl Wash Futurity, plus his 2nd in the translyvania recently. I can't get an exacta amount, but I think the Wash Futurity is 150k purse, and that one was 150k purse, so a win by him puts him in the picture also....

He has $128,600 total earnings.

He won a MSW50k = $30,000
2nd in a 40250N1X = $8,050
Every other race was Graded for him.

Which leaves = $90,550 as Graded Earnings.

This race is worth $325k which gives $195,000 to the winner.

That would put him at $285,550 which puts him at 20th on the current list, but there are horses above 20 that are not going, so I'd say a win and he's in.

If Samba doesn't take to the surface then expect St. Joe to be all alone. And that's what I'm betting on. Absolutely no speed in the race.

Huh? Samba Rooster will be sent regardless of how he takes to the surface, and Salute the Sarge and Riley Tucker will be sent from their posts too. Should be plenty of speed.

Salute the Sarge? Uh no. Riley Tucker will sit off the lead. That leaves Samba Rooster and St. Joe. And we all know how Gomez hates going to the lead. He'll probably try and sit Samba off the pace as well.

The odds I'll get are worth it in a race full of plodders.

Salute the Sarge couldn't stay far enough off the lead to not die in the BC Juvenile, he's coming out of a six-furlong race and he's gotta gun to avoid being compromised by the two speeds to his outside. Why wouldn't he be close to the pace? Last time Riley Tucker was in blinkers, he didn't sit off the lead, and he hasn't really done it since except for in the Southwest. And I don't care if Gomez hates going to the lead, he's on a one-dimensional speed horse, what else is he going to do? Pretty sure the fractions will be fast.

I've liked St Joe since his maiden win- but I don't think he can get this distance. Think he's better suited at 6-7f, would have been a force in the Derby Trial next Saturday.
