Default Horsemen Pitch ADW plan for Derby, Oaks

Horsemen at odds with TrackNet Media Group over advance deposit wagering revenue sharing plans are suggesting a proposal that would allow all ADWs to carry programs of both the May 2 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) and May 3 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

No they don't, this is exactly what they DO NOT need to do. Someone got into Hiles ear and said that they were going to look bad to the public. THE PUBLIC WANTS YOU TO STAND YOUR GROUND. I think the majority of people would give up 1 day of wagering online to end up getting all tracks on all ADW's. Do you realize the type of money Twin Spires would lose out on if they didn't carry the KY Derby, assuming they stay up throughout the day and not get bogged down? it is probably 15% of their revenue for the YEAR, in one day, and probably 25% of their revenue in two days, for the whole year. That will piss off some high level investors pretty quickly and solve this miss.

ADW's need to consolidate, to two ADW's, and compete against each other in their offerings, not what tracks are available. If they don't, they are going to lose the whole industry becuase sooner or later people are just going to say **** it and go back to the way it used to be, or stop wagering. All the horse racing industry needs is TVG and Twin Spires (with Youbet's platform). This solves all the problems.

But hey, with these clowns involved in the ADW, it gives a guy like PTC a chance to enter the market, with little barriers.

I disagree. Youbet didn't carry the Derby last year, neither did TVG. What exactly did that solve?

Things were a little different this year then last year. California/New York opening up has changed things dramatically.

And what do you think is going to happen when Keeneland's contract is over with TVG, and Hollywood closes. TVG/Youbet will be out of business becuase they have no tracks

But more towards the point of Youbet/TVG not carrying it, could you imagine the hit that Churchill would take if NO ADW carried it, they would be down 10% probably....

It would be terrible for the day. But, then life would go on and people would move on as well. It will solve nothing except make it difficult for people to bet.
