i can't remember the last time i was this close to the derby and really had no inkling of which way to go. so many with no shot, and so few standing in their way! i almost breathed a sigh of relief when i saw war pass was out, as that would be one less to play in the rttr game. but that's only one out, stll have to choose who to insert.

crazy year.

Its the only race of the year you can count on the celebs to throw around "stupid money".
And to my point exactly, a celebrity who exposes him or herself to horse racing for one day a year doesn't know the Illinois Derby from the Dubai World Cup from the Wood Memorial.

A huge bold number will be staring them in the face, and Recapturetheglory will get horribly overbet just like every Illinois Derby winner.

I'm not sure if jokes about Nick Lachey or jokes about David Carroll galloping Easy Goer are more washed up and unfunny at this point in time. Tough call.

Hey man,

at exactly the 4 minute mark of this clip, you'll hear that Jan Rushton galloped Easy Goer as a 2yo...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cCqhfuJIp0

I would soooo bet any Jan Rushton trained horse in the Champagne upon learning this exciting information.

Nick Lachey is a huge bettor too. Now that he got rid of his wife, he has even more money to play with. I wouldnt be surprised if Nick wagered 100K on this race. This guy has more money than Tiger Woods.

You'd be surprised how much he makes one of his songs are played on the radio or downloaded. Not to mention his cologne ads and muscle ads. He payed paid over 5 million for that reality show he did with his wife a couple years ago. Hes also a big gambler and has reportedly taken Vegas for millions on dozens of occasions.

Dont be jealous now.

Okay maybe I was exaggerating a bit. Tiger gives most of his money away though. I doubt Nick does.

Anyone know the intentions of Indian Sun, Tomcito, My Pal Charlie, and Hey Byrn? Do they intend to run if they get in or are they already pointing elsewhere? If the fillies don't go, and Behindatthebar doesn't we are just one defection away from one of those horses getting in.

My Pal Charlie is being pointed to the Lone Star Derby, connections stated there would have to be at least five defections from the Ky Derby for them to consider

Yeah, if neither filly enters and Behindatthebar doesn't go then those two would be in and the next defection would mean one of those others would be able to get in if they wanted to.

The mention of one or both fillies possibly being entered is really screwing everything up. I wish these guys would make up their mind one way or another and stop teasing the public.
Its really lame to enter and see what post they draw, and most likely scratch if its anything but a "perfect post." This should not be allowed. I mean the connections came right and said what they're intentions were and its okay that 1 or 2 horses may not get in because of the luck of the draw?

We all know when the gates open, there isnt going to be any fillies in there.
Just a bunch of egomaniacs blowing smoke up the public's asses.
