Byk, you see Anak Nakal work today? 46.52 is pretty fast for this horse.

This horse has a legit chance at hitting the board, I really think that Zito let him work himself into shape and now he is starting to blossom....

Yeah, his performance in this year's Derby preps have really put him on my list of contenders for next Saturday, Scav. I mean, who doesn't look for an average finish of 6.67 in a horse's three previous races when 'capping the Derby?

At 80/1 and that work, unless the description is "whipped heavily", I am using the horse, plain and simple....

AND, I am even considering putting out the opportunity to all the Smooth Air lovers, a heads up wager between Smooth Air and Anak Nakal

I think a more fair bet is a heads up wager betwixt Anak Nakal and Z Humor, the only two potential Derby entrants who have yet to really run a step in any race since the calendar turned to 2008.

Another example of why I am still not a believer in putting much stock in a single workout before the Derby.

Who is talking fair, if I do it, I am going to do it at even money, and probably a $500 total limit, and let people take chucks of it, $100 minimum.....

Anak Nakal is surely an underdog in a match up wager vs Smooth Air...If I had to guess, it would be

Smooth Air -150
Anak Nakal +120

One thing is for sure, if Anak Nakal does find some way to hit the board - or perhaps even win - Scav will have some pretty serious bragging rights around here. I was on this colt's bandwagon early in the year, but I jumped off awhile ago. He just hasn't done anything.
I guess with his trainer, sire, recent workout, and a win over the track, I can't completely blame you for taking a stab if he is HUGE odds.....but he sure seems unlikely.

i just meant that the horse won't suddenly be slower just because his humans made dumb decisions. whether he'll be right for the derby, i don't know. but i still think he can be a good horse.
and i'd pick him before i chose smooth air on derby day....which isn't saying much.
