![]() This whole situation is mind-boggling, to say the least. I realize there are alot of f*cked up political and military regimes in the world, but this junta is above and beyond twisted. I just find it very difficult to be open minded about something like this. Some type of strong Internaitional presence needs to converge, tell this Gen. Than Shwe "we are coming in, whether you like it or not. Your citizens need to be taken care of in a much more timely manner."

![]() They are saying 100,000 dead.
Over 1 million displaced. And they wont even let reporters in to get accurate accounts of what is going on and where. This is a situation where the press can really help out. |

Burma will let China and a few other nations help out. If China is given the chance to show a humanitarian side it is right now before the Olympics. But it is very helpful to know exactly what is needed and where. The press is very good at getting this type of info out. China could get a lot of mileage out of this. Even if they dont care about the suffering. And China can bully Burma if they really want to. Easily. Im waiting for them to step up. |

US aide or planes, the US is using Chinese planes to get aide in. On the other hand the Chinese have pledged a whopping 1 million US dollars. Maybe this goes a long way in Burma. So I guess China will get few boxes of rice in on their own. Jeez. |

![]() Each mind is so different, actuated by such different motives, controlled by such different circumstances, influenced by such different sufferings, you cannot know all the influences that have gone to make up a personality. Therefore, it is impossible for you to wholly judge that personality.

That must mean our minds are influenced by the exactly the same set of motives, we have suffered the same, been influenced the same way, had the same set of environmental stimuli at exactly the same delicate stage of neuronal development. But I have never eaten the bright mushrooms in my backyard... nor have I made tea from other identified or unindentified fungi????? I have never taken dung from the Yak that has eaten the hallucinogenic Mountain Laurel Bean and rolled it into a cigar? And then inhaled... |
