![]() One of my nephews is interested in walking hots at BEL.
I understand he just basically needs to head out there some morning and see what's available. Anyone know what time they typically start and if there any stables that start a bit later than the others. Thanks |

![]() Most start between 5 and 6 am. The grooms start earlier. It would probably be best for your nephew to initially stop at barns to ask for work after things slow down, about 10 am. I don't know of any barn that starts later although Baffert was notorious for starting late.

![]() I wouldn't wait until 10am and go around. All they will tell you is to come back tomorrow.
He should just walk around around 5:30-6 because some barns already know they are short people. Just get back and walk around and it doesn't hurt to try the day after payday because sometimes people don't show up. He should have no problems walking in without a license if he knows what he is doing, although even at Saratoga now it isn't that easy to just walk in looking for work. |
