That's not a ringing endorsement, if we use Point Given as an example and you can use Monarchos also from the same year if you want. Winning the triple crown events does not necessarily mean you are going to be a success in the breeding shed. Right now you'd have to say Street Cry is the best sire from that crop with a derby winner to his name already. One look at the 2007 Top Sires list in North America and it is quite revealing.

It's not clear that Street Cry wasn't the most talented horse from that crop.

I sure would have loved to see Point Given race at 4 against Street Cry. I think it would have been very hard to chose which one would have been better. One thing is for sure Street Cry's Stephen Foster race was one of the more impressive races I remember from an older horse.

I think it's pretty close between him and Congaree. Was never a Point Given fan.

I also think Macho Uno might end up a good sire- he certainly stands at a place where he can get some good mares.

His second in the Whitney was one of my all time favorite races...

Lido Palace, Macho Uno, Street Cry, Left Bank. From 1st to 4th I think they beyered 121-116 Unbelievable!
