Default Met Mile (Divine Park 109)

The Met Mile is only five days away and there is little talk about this great race. Divine Park blew out the Westchester field on Belmont's opening day. The Met Mile makes sense for this colt but is he going to run? The Carter winner Bustin Stones decided to give him a long break so he's out. Executive Fleet who finished 2nd in the Carter might run. Commentator has been pointed to this race. Monterey Jazz is another one who is pointing to this race.

Does anyone know more info about horses who might run in the Met Mile?

Here's who I've heard:

Monterey Jazz
Commentator
Divine Park
Premium Wine
Lord Snowdon

There were only 16 nominations.

Monterey Jazz only knows one way to run and that is go to the front and run very fast. Can he wire the Met Mile while battling Commentator?
Devine Park could once again work out a perfect trip and might be enough horse to get the job done. The ? is how does he react off of that sensational race he ran on April 30th?

Which is it: a perfect trip or a sensational race? Got a clue?

Where did you read that Bustin Stones was out? I agree though, it's a great race and I'm at Belmont for it every year.

I read that Levine wants to point him to the BC and wants to give him a rest. Bustin Stones is a lightly raced horse and while he showed speed, he never ran eye to eye with a legit Grade 1 sprinter. Taking a break at this point sounds a bit fishy.

He spiked a fever which meant missing the Met Mile and they were considering the True North but then realized this was 2008 and no trainer would possibly want to have their horse come into the BC after a grueling year long campaign so they were going to give him a break until Saratoga to have him fresh for the BC.

How many years has Commentator competed in this race? And what is the record for the most starts in the Met Mile? Commentator has to be close to that record.

Has Commentator ever been entered once in the Met Mile? Not that I can remember?

If the record is zero, then yes, Commentator is on the verge of shattering it.

Personally, I'm bummed that Monterey Jazz scratched, because the last thing I want to see is Commentator be afforded an easy lead and win in 1:33, then we have to hear about how awesome he is for another four months.

I bet people are wishing they nominated some rabbits now. I guess the only question now is over/under 120 Beyer for Commentator. Should get his dream trip where he'll throw up another freakish performance.

It's a shame that Commentator is probably going to get loose, because First Defence and Divine Park are just as good, if not better than him.
