Default BELMONT WED. C/O: 'my thank you note'

While making a cursory first look at the last 6 races on Wednesday I am somewhat flabbergasted by the absence of the obligatory Maiden Claimer, MSW, 10K claimer or multiples of the above.

Somebody got the sequence and conditions right this time although I am sure the 6 and 7F turf sprints will draw ire from those who would rather bet jumpers than bet turf sprints.

A very fair yet challenging P6 Wednesday will probably reach 3 million in the pot and should be drawn regularly on carry days but for what ever reason gets carded contrary far too often.

For all the grief the NYRA racing secretary takes regularly let me be among the first to say thank you for fine effort with this one.

Once you look at the PP's, I think you'll be tearing up that thank you note. The quality of the fields ranges from mediocre to bad.

In YOUR opinion...supported by nothing.

You must favor those 5,000k claimers at CD or the 4 horse fields at GG.

I'm curious Joey.....how much time have you spent handicapping the card? How much time do you spend daily, weekly, monthly, and annually, handicapping and looking at races around the country.

Personally, I think you stand on very week ground for someone who speaks authoritatively about a lot of things in the game.

You must have about 8k laying around to piss into this pool because that is what it is going to take to hit this thing, unless you are incredibly lucky.

That's sort of the initial point of the thread. This is a Pick-6 sequence that offers a very real possibility of a substantial reward for work well done. That's not always an easy thing to do.

I am incredibly lucky, so I'll be taking a crack at it.

With 4 days to handicap, I have very certain opinions about the card and I'll either be right or wrong, but I won't be sitting on the sidelines.

The ISSUE made by your pal was the card is filled with "mediocre to bad stock". THAT is the point I answered.

YOU are commenting on a different issue. ..the DIFFICULTY of handicapping the card for a pick 6...: or maybe YOU can explain precisely "how the (alleged) mediocre or bad stock" in the P6 at Belmont RELATE to constructing a pick 6?

I kinda agree with him in regards to the quality, but it is a Wednesday, hard to expect anything else. I think he was trying to convey the notion that bad stock is less reliable then good stock, which will open up a whole other can of worms that I care not to get involved with

Thank you.. The original post was lauding NYRA for not carding a bunch of maiden claimers, cheap claimers, etc. I was just trying to say that once you look at the PP's, it's not that much better. That doesn't mean it's unplayable, but I was disagreeing with the idea that it's a great card.

Here we go again. I said the fields are lousy on Wednesday in terms of quality. I don't see why that gets you so irritated. I'm curious.. Why the hell do you assume that I'm not a handicapper, don't watch replays, etc.? What will it take to get you to stop losing your **** at every one of my posts? Should I end each thought with "* pending approval by Andy"?

I really don't care what ground you think I stand on, because I don't claim to have any above average knowledge of the game. However, I have opinions, and just because you back yours up with "I'm Andy Serling, you're not," doesn't mean I'm not going to continue to have them and express them.

Channeling the Gary Stevens character, George Wolfe, from the Seabuscuit movie?

That's hot.

BS Joey. You probably looked at the card for two seconds and made some flip comment. Too bad if you don't like being called out for it. However, you make a lot of brash statements around here and barely ever get called out them ( and never by anybody but me ).

I've only looked at the card for a few minutes myself, and so far it looks pretty interesting. The point of my question to you, if you took time away from your usual victim stance, was that if you actually spent time looking at racing around the country you would know that this card is well above average.

That's more BS Hooves. That wasn't what I said at all, and if Joey wasn't so into playing the victim he would have understood what I posted.

OF COURSE COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IT'S A GOOD CARD. I was comparing to other Wednesdays at Belmont, which often have some very good races on them. This card, I think, has none. For example, I was at BEL on May 14, and I felt that THAT was an awesome card.

And I've looked at the card for about two hours now.. Still mediocre, COMPARED TO WHAT'S THERE USUALLY.

My supposed "victim stance" is just me being annoyed that you follow me around the board and pick apart every post I make. It's not hurtful, it's not infuriating.. It's just annoying.

About the card, I have looked at it for now 3 hours, and I haven't had the benefit of replays yet but I have to say that I don't see a single 'confident' single.

Considerations would be Myakka(I think this race has a bunch of bad bad horses in there and the first to the lead might win, and even if there is a some BS speed from someone, his outside post will allow him to sit chilly for a little while), or Dancing Tin Man (a little interesting if the pace develops, has some number power)

I do kinda like Pluralcity first time turf but I worry about him getting hooked up with the speed. Pennington is interesting in that race also.

Dancing Tin Man and Hot Table would be where I'd turn to, though the latter has burned some money and will probably on the wrong side of a slow pace again.
