Default 8/13: Saratoga (Week 3- $55k C/O)

First half of meet ended Monday with another messy slopfest card featuring 4 off turf events. Next three weeks figure to provide better scenario given the Alabama, Travers and Woodward Saturdays and an increasingly improving weather forecast. Enjoyed a more-than-solid initial 18 days (17 really), and hope you're doing well at the midpoint of this unusual Spa session. Week 3 starts with an excellent quality card and $55,200 carryover that looks very tough. Weather calls fot OK day with slight chance of isolated t-storm. Rain yesterday may move the 2 non-MSW grass races off the turf, but we'll see about that as soon as we get to the track around 7am.

I hear ya. I'm tired of 5 & 6 horse fields running on an "off" track.

If I wanted that, I would just focus on California races.

4th race: Did anyone else find it interesting that Pletcher started with two horses (before scratches) and neither had Velazquez who was suppose to ride the Penna horse. Just thought that a bit odd.
