Default Dodgers in Series would overlap Cup

Just occured to me to check the World Series schedule figuring that if the Dodgers made it, the NL games might be played out West when I was there for the Breeders' Cup...

Sure enough, Game 3 would be at Chavez Ravine on the night of Day 2 of the Cup. Point being, if the Dodgers are in the Series, how many in Los Angeles will pay much attention to the BC?

2008 WORLD SERIES SCHEDULE:

Gm 1 National League @ American League Wed Oct. 22 TBD FOX
Gm 2 National League @ American League Thu Oct. 23 TBD FOX

Gm 3 American League @ National League Sat Oct. 25 TBD FOX
Gm 4 American League @ National League Sun Oct. 26 TBD FOX
Gm 5* American League @ National League Mon Oct. 27 TBD FOX

Gm 6* National League @ American League Wed Oct. 29 TBD FOX
Gm 7* National League @ American League Thu Oct. 30 TBD FOX

You're giving L.A. too much credit for caring about anything in sport (except Scuds, of course.)

Tampa is no problem. Boston is not easy though we may have a backdoor there.

I can.....but I won't be going out West and I'm pissed that apparently I can't go to Fenway either.

Then again, maybe it will be Phili-Tampa. I do know one thing.....this entire post makes me want to make a huge bet on the Phillies.

As sick as it makes me feel as a Met fan, I think this is the Phillies' year.

I'm rooting for them the rest of the way. The fans in Philly deserve it. Anybody that would actually pay money to see a baseball game at the Vet should have had a championship ages ago (kind of like Shea ).

I wouldn't bet too much on any Philly sports team in a playoff series and/or championship game.

I read the first post where Ateam blamed the manager because a major leauger couldn't manage to drop a bunt.

Randy Moss not only would have been able to lay down a simple bunt and save his manager from undue BS - but he also might have been able to beat it out for a single with his Commentator like speed.

And I mean the white Moss this time.

I think I hold the Erie County record for strikeout to at-bat ratio .. but I've never whiffed on a damn bunt attempt.

They would have walked Moss, too much plate coverage.

Isn't that from racing fans though? I don't think the general public gives a rat's ass about the BC. The racing fans will come, the others won't. If attendance is down this year it is probably due to the apathy for the synthetic that is leading to a lot of people not making the trip out from the east coast.

I suppose you get fans who are sports fans who go to big events and maybe you lose them because of the Dodgers (though they are far from a lock)

I hope for the sake of the sport that those fans actually exist but outside of the Triple Crown races I'm kind of skeptical that they do.
