GUS ALONSO'S SATURDAY ACTION

Churchill Downs - Rain and wind expected, so changes will be made accordingly.

R7 - Alw 44.1k N1X

#2 Dominic's Desire - Earned a 94BSF two back on a good Matt Winn Turf Course (CD) on 6/27/09, but faces a tougher assignment here.
#3 Garifine - Lightly raced 5yr old ($1.8 Million purchase) made his return after a 14 month layoff and held on for 3rd at KEE last month going 7 furlongs. Should be tighter for this affair.
#5 Du Pars - DWL runner has been on the bench since April and comes back to a sprint on the lawn. Shows a nice string of works.
#6 Orangspangledgator - Another coming in off a layoff and making 1st start on turf. Robby knows him.
#1 Ya Think - Connections could not be any hotter and he's won 2 of 4 at this distance.

R8 - OC80k / N$Y

#6 Game Face - Multiple graded stakes winner hasn't been seen since the G1 Acorn at BEL in June. Her 11/9 work indicates she's ready to fire right off the bench and her back class doesn't hurt. Showed a ton of heart winning the G3 La Troien on Derby weekend.
#4 Appeal With Zeal - ILL bred is looking to make it 3 in a row for solid Chicago connections Yanez/Karlsson. She'll be finishing strong at long odds.

R9 - G3 Cardinal Handicap

#1 Sousapone - Owns a victory on this course, but this is a higher level.
#2 Meribel - Coming in off her 1st win of the year and it came at the same 9 furlongs distance.
#3 Long Approach - Forever Together connections always dangerous, but this filly must step up her game to contend in only her 3 start of the year.
#4 Queendom - Didn't show much 10 days ago versus lesser, but the extra furlong will help.
#5 Callwood Dancer (Ire) - Top money earner has been keeping some fancy company North of the Border, which include Sealy Hill and Forever Together (F&M BC Turf Champion). Her race two back in the G2 Canadian was run in a quagmire and she finished 2nd in front of FT.
#6 Ciao - Seems like she prefers a firm turf course and that is not going to be the case for this event.
#7 Ballymore Lady - She's had a fine year and should not be overlooked at a juicy price.
#8 Lady Digby - Has been freshened up and Graham knows how to get them ready right away.
#9 Kiss With a Twist - Owns a nice record on this course and could boast the exotics.
#10 Indescriable - Last started on the turf 11 months ago.

Ex & Tri Box - 5 / 2 3 7 8

R10 - MSW 42k

#11 Manito - The start cost him any chance in debut and check out the gate workout on 11/7.
#4 Inflight - Eligible to improve off wide draw at KEE.
#7 Country Day - Margolis 1ster has been training well in the mornings.
#1 Soul Warrior - Asmussen runner has been given some time before his debut.

PK4 - 1 2 3 5 6 / 4 6 / 5 8 / 4 7 11 = $60

Fair Grounds

R7 - La Breds Alw 46k N1X

#6 Sure Fire Runner - Broke maiden versus open company at LaD and finished 3rd in restricted stakes for Mouton. Like the fact that he has a couple of FG works under his belt.
#2 E M Squared - Won debut on the downhill turf course at SA in only start.
#4 Gaston - Has only missed the board once in 5 career starts and fits well here.

R8 - Alw 44k N1X

#1 Victory Romance - Canadian invader towards this field in money earned and PVal (won 2 on opening day) takes the mount.
#3 Violetinha (Arg) - Makes 1st start in North America after 12 starts in her homeland. Has been busy in the mornings for Stidham since the end of September.

R9 - Mr. Sulu (La Breds)

#1 Desert Wheat - Consistent sort comes off a decent effort at KEE. If there's a LA Bred race on the turf, he'll show up. This is not the toughest field he has faced and he's 3 for 8 on this course. Mott/PVal combined to take the co-featured yesterday.
#3 Tortuga Flats - She'll take on the boys after dominating ILL Breds fillies the last couple of years.

R10 - Md 15k

#1 Sensei - Calder shipper drops to lowest level.
#3 Kriss Me Once - Has been facing better at HAW and should relish the long stretch.
#4 Straight Shooter - Speedster has burned some cash going a bit longer.

PK4 - 2 4 6 / 1 3 / 1 / 1 3 4 = $18

Good Racing Luck
