Default Why the EQUIP change?

Been waiting for Ashton Girl since her last race, where, she was rank early, then blew by the field in stretch, only to be run down late by a last mover. What's there not to like? She clearly didn't want 6.5F on the downhill course last out and the cutback in distance makes this an IDIOT PROOF SITUATION. And while Solis certainly qualifies, he's ridden the horse before and she rated kindly for him. She's quick enough to stay close, should a horse get loose alone, and she has the strongest kick in the field.

YET, P Gallagher needs to put blinkers on for the race. Another variable when letting things alone would've sufficed. I realize he's 21% at a +1.30 ROI with the move.

Not worth the risk at the price.

On the other hand, C. C.'s Secret definitely looks like he'll do a lot better with blinkers on.

That's some cutback, going from a downhill 6.5f to a flat 6f. I would tend to disagree with her being able to stay close, she's been no closer than 3 or 4 lengths early in her last 3, and she was absolutely dusted by loose-on-the-lead Synnin and Grinnin at Del Mar (going only 5f, but the winner was extending her lead through the stretch). Perhaps they want her a bit more prominent early.

Otherwise, I suppose the ridiculous head tossing in her latest, her consecutive hanging efforts after big moves in her last pair, and her overall penchant for minor awards are valid enough reasons to put the blinkers on.
