Default Funny Cide to KY Horse Park

Leaving the life of a pony behind, and coming here to Lexington Hall of Champions at the Horse Park.

Barclay Tagg was a bit vague on what rigors of training and racing are leading to Funny Cide's discomfort (the reason he's not still the stable pony) but I'll take a swing at arthritis. I got the impression he was more interested at being around a track than on display in a stall. Whatever it is must be more than a little uncomfortable to cause the change.

Like any of us, some parts start to ache when we get older, guess Funny Cide is no different. I am usually not too fan boy-ish about horse racing, but I LOVE this horse.

When I heard Empire Maker had that hoof bruise or whatever it was, I went hand over fist with cash to the window at 12-1 on FC. Since it was already May, I took my winnings and stashed them until the next semester at school started a few months later, and needless to say, FC paid for a lot of cheap beer during Fall 2003 at college. Ahhhh those were the days lol...

I saw Pesticide a lot thru Sept and he looked the picture of health.. I actually thought it was pretty cool of Mr. Tagg to try and keep him as his pony.

A quick side note....The bus needed a 150k sevice, at which time they discovered the trany was screwed, sadly they had no choice but to put her down.. I cried. Run with Angels girl

I saw Funny Cide come back to Empire Maker in the Wood Memorial and new that Funny Cide would win the Derby. I didn't bet him with both fists though. I was busy trying to hit the trifecta and after hearing about the hoof bruise on EM I threw him out of the tri...

The back problems that troubled him during his racing career have persisted and it was no longer practical to have someone riding him, even as a stable pony.
