A Breed Apart
I'm finishing reading a great book, A Breed Apart, by Mike Helm - written in the 90's about Golden Gate Fields and Bay Meadows tracks - it features stories about trainers, jockeys, owners, track staff, etc. - all across the spectrum... Really great read (although I'm biased since these are my people here in NorCal) but a very honest story and good read. I recommend it to anyone.
