Hard to believe a person could be smart enough to make hundreds of millions of dollars and yet be dumb enough to let Eric Guillot spend it

If the horses don't sell they're going to let Duncan Hines eat them.

A committee of KYRIM, Eurobounce, Quiet Chris and PG 1985 would have done a better job

Instead, Guillot said, the operation is considering selling about 100 horses, mostly in its Louisiana program, a move he said he had wanted to make even before the economy dropped off.

"The bottom line is that we've just got too many horses," Guillot said. "That's too much grooms, hotwalkers, too much operation. I can cut $150,000 off a month that operation. . . . We have a Louisiana program that's big and gotten bigger, and now it's time to carve it out."

"I'm going to put them up for sale, and if somebody comes along and makes an offer that's good, fine, but it's not a fire sale," he said of any horses Southern Equine puts on the market. "I've got a million calls from Kentucky from people thinking we're desperate, we're broke, and we want to sell for pennies on the dollar. That's not true."

So there a million people in KY trying to get their hands on the 'Louisiana program'?

They arent broke but they have reversed course on a farm they bought and leveled in June and are now looking to sell in the currrent real estate market?
And they have too many horses but they are going to put the extras on a 200 acre farm in LA? Yeah sounds like a corporate downsizing.

Moreno strikes me as the type that can't seperate business and friendships.
He is obviously very loyal to Guillot. However, why not give him some cush job as racing manger and tell him to get the F out of the way. Then turn the horses over to someone that can train. It's pretty obvious to anyone that follows the game, even a little, that EG isnt much of a horseman.

Hey at least he won some Super bowls. The only thing Moreno has won is most money wasted by a non-Arab at the sales.

yeah, back in the day. if it was a college team, jones would be accused of winning with someone else's recruits-he bought into the hype surrounding that team, thought he was the reason they won.
at any rate, i would imagine the truth to this story is somewhere in between what's mentioned in the story-not quite a fire sale, but certainly things aren't just peachy either. i guess they thought they were the second coming of darley with the tearing down of a farm, with complete rebuilding in mind. ooops

It is obvious that the guy is having money issues despite what is said. Regardless of that his program stinks. At least IEAH buys ready made horses that win big races.
