John White........
did i hear that right, he thinks if Gomez opts. off POTN in favor of Dunkirk that he could be potentially opting off the next triple crown winner?

Does John White ever stop to breathe when he is talking on the show?

I guess you have to give him credit for taking a stand. It is one thing predicting a Derby winner in March, but he is going on record that the colt can win the Triple Crown.

Steve,
We need the Sirius radio to scroll "Pioneerof the Nile" on the display while John is talking next week. It's starting to remind me of those "Subliminal Man" skits on Saturday Night Live: "I'd like to make a bet"-Pioneerof the Nile -" on the Derby" -Pioneerof the Nile -"Wow, 20 horses?" -Pioneerof the Nile -"Who's giving me good odds"-Pioneerof the Nile... All in fun buddy. Love the show. Joe |

I always heard john say "the last horse to win the derby without racing at 2 was Apollo back in 1882." I have tried to find how how many horses have actually raced in the derby without running a race at 2 years old.
I have to assume this sample size is rather small, but does anyone have the research for this? |

I think John White should change his name to John of the Nile...I just finished listening to Tuesday's show and I have to preface my upcoming comment by saying I enjoy John's segment every week, but this last month is painful to listen to. In some way he compares every single horse or scenario to Pioneer of the Nile. Please John, you are beating this poor horse to death. Steve wants to talk Arkansas Derby, he ends up on POTN, Steve wants to talk Bluegrass, he ends of on POTN. We get it John, please next week, I am challenging you to make it through your segment without talking about or comparing horses to POTN. I also have a question of how not racing over a dirt track is not a "strike" against POTN???? Doesn't make sense...
Steve, next Tuesday for Thoroughbred Legacy I think Bob should feature POTN's career... John, I love ya, but you are sounding like a broken record every week, there are at least 19 other horses that can be discussed with thorough detail without talking about POTN. All I am asking is for one week... |

Apollo 1892
According to Wickpedia
Derby participants are limited to three-year-old horses. No horse since Apollo in 1882 has won the Derby without racing at age two Oh well |

I have to also say that I love Steve Haskin's sarcasm during yesterdays show. He made numerous comments poking fun at John White's love of POTN.
I would still like someone to answer me on how the heck POTN does not get a strike in his system for never running on dirt????? Also here is another strike for POTN...no horse have ever won the Derby that has a name that has 4 words...(Pioneer of the Nile)...not even since Apollo in 1882...lol |
